I love my v80! It has worked great, no real problems...until today. all of a sudden the screen keeps freezing for no aparrent reason. I have had to end up removing the battery and that is only a temporary fix. What happened? Has this happened to anyone else? How can I fix it? THanks!

Is there anything I can do? I do not know if I can get it serviced in the United States. When I talked to them about some other issue they said since it is only available in Europe that they would not take any responsibility for it. Any ideas?

you can buy the part and fix it. You may find it on ebay. I heard is pretty expensive part.

Would flash/flexing work to fix it? Or I saw that I can get a new screen would that fix it? Thanks!

Another strange thing (strange to me that is) I just turned it on and it is fine as long as I leave it open. the problem is when I try to close it. The picture usually rotates but now it just freezes half way around. Then I have to remove the battery to get it to do anything. I have seen nothing listed for ribbon cable. Thanks for the help.

The dame thing happend to my v220. I pretty sure it is the ribbon cable because i had mine replaced and it fixed the problem. Contact the motorola website people. They can provide you with a service center or they will ask you to send it to them. If you have a reciept of purchase within the last year, they will usually fix it for you for free, so long as you didn't replce anything with a non-oem casing/faceplate. The people at motorola sent me to a service center, and i was fixed in about 2 days.

Well, I got it from ebay...does that void out warranty? Also, they do not like to take responsibility for this phone because it is not available in the US. Has anyone gotten around these issues? Thanks for the help and answers. I knew I found the right place to go for help! Aly
