Service Provider: Cingular Violates many FTC & FCC Laws |

I went to the store and they said the phone had been discontinued so they didn't have accessories for it (including batteries). Those reps couldn't of helped me even if they wanted to.
And your statement about refurbishing the phone? It can't be refurbished/reused without first being unlocked! Unless you sign up somehow with the old AT&T Wireless?
And yes I do tell them upfront that I am recording them. That is on the tape as well. I've posted a partial transcript of one of my many calls to them. I am not posting the tape as an mp3 online as I had to give personal information out durring those calls SSN, phone # etc... I wish to keep that personal, I hope you understand.

After sending a report to the FCC, Cingular gave me a "courtesy credit" of $230. I'm not dropping my case yet though. I'm more interested in seeing this fraud stop.

BigRUSS if the TV company sold me my TV I would, but they don't. Cingular sold me my phone and issued the warranty for the phone. I'm not incompetent. Anyone that questions what I'm posting here has every right to do so, but #1 what would be my motivation to lie? and #2 just take a look at the # of FCC, FTC and BBB complaints against Cinguar for the last 2 years. This information is readily availible.
And for those of you working for Cingular trying to defend it, I read an article a couple days ago that says Walmart employees recieve better comp. That's sad you'd want to stand up for that kind of company.

I personally could give a damn about Cingular or Walmart, I just do what I have to do to put food on my family's table. However, there is a such thing as business sense, or common sense at that.
Like someone else on this board said, you nitpick and complain too much for a loyal, bill-paying customer. If you don't like the company, leave and go elsewhere. You don't see people here complaining about McDonald's, Wal-Mart, or Time Warner. Thats because if they don't like the company, they leave. There just so happen to be other carriers out there, in case you hadn't heard. There's this new company out called Verizon. I hear they're just like Cingular, only better. And then there's Sprint, and T-Mobile...yes, cell phone providers are popping up everywhere. It's like some type of cellular revolution, it's really awesome man!
Cancel Cingular. Let them charge you the $150 ETF. Take them to court, sue them, not owe them a dime, and let them pay you for life. Retire early and move to Florida (or better yet, New Orleans!)

there are such things as "beeps" that can be played over such info - as done on commercial radio. just FYI.
every company has just as many silly complaints against them from mostly people that expected too much, or are ignorant - not just Cingular. This includes every aspect of industry - Wendys, Mcdonalds, Home Depot, Lowes, Time Warner, Comcast.
The fact of the matter is we live in a society where everyone is sue-happy. people are suing people over stupid things. i hear people all the time that say we have a "racket" going on because we charge tax. or that we're "crooks" because we issue rebates in the form of Visa gift cards, not checks anymore. or that we are "scam artists" because someone's phone which is 6 months OUT of warranty breaks, and we can't give them a free one to replace it.
how about this for a better example than earlier in the thread?- You sign up for DirecTV and they give you a FREE dish and FREE installation, with a 1 year contract. now your dish breaks. - who fixes it? - YOU, not them. whatcha gonna do? sue them becasue they told you up front that it was your responsibility? (maybe not verbally, but you agreed to a contract which stated it).
If more people would spend the time reading their terms of service, and less time worrying about how they can sue the next person that they think wronged them, maybe there would be less complaints.we give you 30 days to do so. if you can't find time to read it in 30 days, you better loosen up your schedule.
