I have had my LG VX 7000 for a little less than a year. During this time I have read a lot of good things about the 8k and 8100 and started wondering if may be I should look at upgrading to a newer phone (plus a family member has expressed interest in my phone).

This forum has been a great source of information and would like to utilize this resource one more time. Which of the 3 is the best phone? I use my phone sometimes take pics and video of my 21 month old daughter when she is being cute out in public.

I would like to hear all of your opinion? Thank you in advance!

Well I personally hate the 7000 but it's the only one I have had of the three. The 7000 has too many problems ( READ MY REVIEW IN THE LG REVIEW SECTION UNDER LGVX7000 for more )I hear the 8k is a good phone but is the largest and most robust phone ever which is why verizon stopped selling that and came out with the 8100. But I hear that the 8100 is a peice of crap. Theres no Mp3 player leaving the MP3 PLAVER BUTTONS to NO use on the front of the phone. Depends what you are looking for. I have had good luck with motorolla but personally have my eye on the A-Vox CDM 8940 because of it's cool features and small design. But i personally hate LG's choice of phones with verizon ( EXCEPt 6100 an actual phone that works) You seem to be looking for video's and pictures so ide reccomend these phones:

SAMSUNG-
SCH-A670
SCH-a890

Motorola-
V710
E815

A-vox
CDM-8940

Kyocera KX-2

These phones are all 99.99 (EXCEPT E815) and can find out more at the review section.

WHAT!?!?!?! whoever told you that needs a hammer to the FACE! thats the dumbest thing i have ever heard, the 8000 sold crazy numbers, yes it's a bigger phone, but the features are steller! in my opinion the 7000 is a great phone, i have not had problems at all with it...one of my frineds has the 8000, and that phone is awesome! i don't really care about how big the phone is, i love the quality. my other buddy has the 8100, much more sleeker, same features, and yes...the MP3 player does not work now, give it a month, someone will figure it out...if you do not mind about size, go with the 8000 for sure, if size is an issue, go with the 8100, regardless of the mp3 capabilities, the phone is sweet. i especially like the expansion memory slot, my buddy has an extra 512 megs.

Honestly i think you should get the samsung a670. It takes videos and pictures. And it is a nice small design phone. You are going to be paying for features you don't need with the 8100. Pay an extra 50 buckes for a non-working mp3 player, V cast which you have to pay monthly for along with each download fee. I see no use for it. stay simple and inexpensive. I dont' need 512 megs on a camera "phone" when i have more on a digital "camera".

funny how you Highlight the words "Phone" and "camera" noting there differences. but you stated in the begining of the topic stating and i quote "I think you should get the samsung A670. it takes Videos AND PICTURES" sure i agree with you about features, why pay for them if your not going to use them....but tell him a different phone besides the A670, i'll go with the motorola v710, or something else, i have alot of friends with alot of different phones, and i check em all out, my friend hates the picture quality of the A670, though he thinks it's a nice phone, but were trying to pick out a camera phone for this person, with nice quality pictures. so he can catch his kid, doing funny stuff. so not EVERYONE carries there Digital "CAMERA" around, and they only have there "PHONE" so wouldn't it be nice to have a 1.3 digital Camera phone for those never forgettable pics? trust me in a couple years you will be the only one that thinks cameras are for pics and nothing else can take them, i used to think that, but wait until samsung brings that 5 megapixel phone out, then what are you going to say? theres no beaf between you and i, but if your going to attempt to flame someone, you picked the wrong person, i will burn you down. grant it, i did start it with the whole hammer to the face, but that was dumb, LG comes out with a phone every 6 months, and because you hate your 7000, you bash all other LG phones with no back-up, so get your story straight before you come into a "Cell phone FORUM" so.....on topic, get a phone that fits your needs, go through reviews, do some research.

For your information I do know what I am talking about. My nextdoor neighbor is a verizon tech and purchased the 8100 the first day it was in stock at his store. He returned it within the same day. He said it was the worst phone he ever owned, and as a verizon store tech he has had a lot. First he said the call clarity sucks, if you plan to use this peice of junk as a phone your out of luck. Second the speakerphone is useless. He said it randomly adjusts volume with each call made and expecting a good speaker with the two side speakers 4 get it. He said the camera is blurry and always out of focus. And with Lg's trademark ugliness it puts the cherry on the top of the crap sundae. . plus with every new lg, there are those annoying verizon advertizing bars on the top and botton of the screen. He said that that same week almost three quarters of the 8100's sold that week were returned due to the poor signal strength and so called "missing" mp3 player. And half of the 8100 users that returned there phones purchased the E815 instead and that the others were turned off and left verizon servicedue to one bad phone. Lg really screwed up, again. Too bad im stuck with this peice of crap for a while.

My neighbor just mentioned to me the problems with the 8k. That phone is just as bad as any other LG too. It locks up multiple times for no reason, which is why so many are trying to be fixed at his verizon store tech job. It also has a grainy camera and terrible sound capabilities. If you ask me, no lg on the verizon market should be on there. (Except 6100)

I got the VX8100 and had the V04 software installed. The MP3 player with equalizer works great, sounds good, has plenty of volume. The camera works as I would expect a phone camera to work. No problems with signal strength or clarity. I can't campare to the other phones, but I'm happy with the 8100.

Hi, I am torn between the 8100 and E815. One of the features I like is the MP3 player, but Verizon has disabled it. Where can I get the software to override it?

Thanks,
