i have an e315 t-mobile and x426 att i unlocked them both a few hours ago and noticed that the e315 doesnt get as good reception as the x426 im using cingular wireless and the phone i will be using is the e315. i was wondering if the reason the e315's problem is because of the carrier it is from, t-mobile, and if so is there a fix for this. the cingular phone i was using got just as good reception as the x426 from att any help would be great

One possibility that I can think of is the operating frequencies of the two phones. Although they both are dual band, E315 is 900/1900 but X426 is 850/1900. For North America, it use 850/1900 so your X426 can receive both bands but E315 only at 1900. That may explain why your X426 has a better reception than E315.
My SE T310 which is 900/1800/1900 has poorer reception than my Samsung E316 (850/1900) and Nokia 6020 (850/1800/1900).

It doesn't sound right if it drops call even though it shows full signal strength. Have you tried putting back the T-Mobile SIM to E315 and see if it has the same problem? By the way, how did you unlock the E315, did you flash it with an unlock version of firmware?

Just checking, but does the firmware IMEI (*#06#) match with the IMEI of your phone (look at the back of the phone when the battery is removed)?

I would like to bring up this topic again. Will flashing affect the performance of the phone? See my post in April:
