Ok, I'm pretty new to this, and sortof confused. I got a cingular LG-9100 which im using on T-mobile. It's unlocked and i can use t-zones (after t-mobile gave me all the info to set up my phone). Unfortunately, when i try to download anything from t-zones, it tells me that my phone isn't supported. I asked the rep at t-mobile about it and got a whole lot of evasive answers. Also, the phone has a built in Instant Messaging program. I'm assuming the reason that i can't use it is because the software is still set up for Cingular users. So how do i A) make my phone capable of downloading from t-zones (if thats possible) and B) make my phone able to access the instant message service? I was figuring that if anywhere, this would be the place to find an answer.

To make your IM work you will need a firmware update from LG......I don't even know if LG has the capability to do this. My department gets 1 LG phone customer a month it seems like
Now we do offer instant messaging through t-zones(tmobile web) but AOL does not normally work with unsupported handsets leaving you with just the option to use yahoo messenger through t-zones. We have plans to add MSN soon.
As for the downloads samsung is correct...You will have to get your downloads from 3rd party sites.

Here is my dilemma with that Samsung....these people want ringtones....we can't provide them at this time....
as long as they understand we don't support ringtones downloaded by 3rd party sites and if their phone becomes messed up for some reason because of the download then we can't fix it.
I have had people want to cancel because we don't offer games for the v330.......CANCEL! I say push them in the right direction to please the customer.

Lol, I know im just being a geek.... Everyone! understand that content from third party providers has not been tested by T-Mobile so its not guarenteed to be safe (not saying that its necessarily going to harm your phone either though) and we do not offer any kind of support like technical care stated.

I'm using an unlocked P-777 on T-Mobile. It is
probably similar to your Samsung phone.
Your "Service Center" for text messaging needs to
be set to: +12063130004
Menu->2.Messaging->7.Settings->2.Text Message->1.Sending Profile
Select a profile.
Options->Edit->1.Service Center
Set to: +12063130004
Also, I have read (not sure if true) that you should
set the bearer to GPRS to avoid message fees
(but you will need T-Zones for this to work):
Menu->2.Messaging->7.Settings->2.Text Message->4.Bearer Selection->GRPS
