Hey Guys,

I recently got a N6680 to replace my N6230. I'm a very heavy text messager and run out of space every 2-3 days so I make backups onto the PC. Now, on the Seris 40 phone, I'd connect the data cable, open Nokia PC Suite and simply go to File Manager > Nokia 6230 > Messages > Inbox and copy-paste all the .VMG files to a folder on my desktop.

However, now with the Series 60 N6800, when I do the same and go to > Nokia 6680, there's 3 folders, Phone Memory (C), Memory Card (E) and Contacts. I've been thru all these and can't find a Messages folder or even any of the messages. I really want to keep backups and not keep deleteing them. Anyone know of what to do, please? Any help would be appreciated. icon_smile.gif

Go to Extras->Memory. TYhen you can select "Backup Phone Memory". This would create a backup of contacts and messages in the phone memory on your memory card.

Ah yes, I'm aware of that and can do it via the PC Suite itself [Backup icon]. However, it creates a single .nfb files which I can not open on the PC to retrieve the messages as I would to individual .vmg files which I prefer. Any other ideas?

Yes, I know... I've been silent to this topic icon_wink.gif
Forgotten about it when I was at home...

Well, you should be able to do it the same way on the 6680... I can do it on my 6630...

Phonebrowser -> *select the phone* -> Messages

When I'm there the program asks me to complete installion on the for a program called "smssync"... done so, now I could save my messages...

Be sure you've got the latest edition of PC Suite (6.6)
