Ok, Im in a bit of a bind here im going on vacation and i will be on the road for a while i have installed Easy GPRS and GPRSWizard and when i hook my cable up to my phone and computer i put it to Data and try to connect the phone shows the phone with the computer placing a call right next to it but after about 1 1/2 seconds the call terminates what is the problem here?

Prob incomplete/inaccurate settings, have you called Cingular?

No i have no called cingular im not using GPRS i want it to be like an actual modem As i wil NOT pay .3 per kb
so what should i do or where can i find these settings also this is a Unlocked X426 using cingular Orange

I believe your carrier is the only ISP you can use for what you are trying to accomplish

Sorry man, I think I'm going to have to maintain with the mod's bad news answer.
Ideally, you should be able to use your phone as a means of dialing and using as a source of data transfer when connected to a dialup modem...
But, of course, if the Providers let you do that, where will they get their money on data? Most providers seem to thrive especially with exorbitant data prices. Cingular is NOT an exception. Same with the former AT&T, btw.

I don't know if this is an option, esp. if you're in a contract, but in your case, you're better off switching to T-Mobile, pay up $19.99/mo. for Unlimited Data Tethering. Rather than Cingular's price of somewhere around $30~40.

i wish but i still have a year and a half or i would be over at t mobile IAI

Next time, if you can help it, stick with an one year plan. It's not worth the reduced activation and possibly cheaper phones to go with two years.
In the meantime, go wi-fi hopping, if you can... and stay out of trouble.
