I have done most of the easy mods to my vx7000 but what i would like to do is
#1 change my startup and shutdown animations
#2 change the color of the various bars at the top and bottom of both screens.
I am using BitPim and been poking round the files on the phone to see if the settings are similar to web. Found a file under the brew directory called app.bar. I viewed it in the bitPim viewer thingy and seen the settings i was looking for, such as (img width="100" height= "90" align="center" #FFFFFF) and so on. I dont know if this particular file is the one for the main screen display but it looks hopefull. In my slight experience in web i would assume that their is a color code to be changed . If anyone knows the file that holds the color information on the phone i would be willing to be the guinnie pig on this one.

Sorry, there is absoluteley NO way to change these two settings. Both are perminately set to advertize for verizon and that is just one of the reasons I hate ths phone.

Try using "Winhex" it's a hex editor, you might be able to get somewhere with that "App.Bar" File.

In the app.bar file you found a line that said something like #FFFFFFF. That is generally a color code. I dont know exactly how to change it because i dont know what color codes LG uses. As far as removing it completely however, i can help you. http://detn8r.pluslite.com/vx7k/tut.html This site has detailed instructions on how to completely remove the VZW banner on both screens. I have not found a way to change startup/shutdown screens but i am still looking. Hope this helps. Let me know how everything turns out.

I already did the Banner thing. I am still working on finding out the correct file to edit to get the nav bars to change color.
THX to everyone who has posted so far. At least now i know im not the only one trying this.
