I have the P2k tools and I downlaoded the p2k drivers aswell. When I go into the p2k tools it doens't say anything about installing the drivers. I figured they might have been already installed?? When I go to open p2ktools a message pops up saying Publisher couldn't be found and I just run the program.(I don't know if this as anything to do with it)
Once in the p2k tools I click connect and this comes up..

I also tried switching to the p2k mode and that same error comes up.
I hit refresh and connect again and still nothing. I tried hitting download and it says phone not connected.. I keep trying to connect the phone and it isnt working.

I made sure no other things were open
I tried unplugging the phone and plugging it back in
I tried restarting my computer..
Turning my phone on and off

--I tried everything I can think of and nothing is working!

Help please!!

I am having the same problem as well.

I have a V551 and I can not get ANY P2K program to find my phone at all. (P2K Tools, P2K Advanced Editor, P2KMan, Motorola Tool, Smartmoto, etc. I mean I have tried almost all of them)

I have MPT and is works fine, version 3.25b.

I have tried all of the P2K programs I can find with no luck.

I have tried them with and without the driver installed.

I have tried with and without PST installed.

I have tried to let it auto detect my COM port and I have tried to set it manually to the port that shows my Motorola phone while I am using MPT.

I have tried using the data cable and bluetooth (still haven't got MPT to find my phone bluetooth yet.)

I am running XP with sp2.

ANY help someone could provide would be great, I have searched for 3 days now through this forum and I have not found anything that has provided any help yet, and I have looked through and read all of the "how to" posts.

I purchased the MPT software, I have the disk for 2.0.

I have used the live update to download 3.25b.

That portion works fine as long as I use the data cable.

Try to delete all of your profiles and make a new one. Do NOT plug your phone in until it says that it is setting up your phone. Then make sure it installs the phone correctly, even if you have to chose your phone manually from the list.

If you do not have your profile set up correctly it will never get past the initilize step.

I believe my problem with the bluetooth setup is that my DUN is not set up correctly. I am using a third party bluetooth adapter, not the motorola one.

My phone says it is paired, but it never gets past the initilizing step in MPT.

I still have not been able to get ANY of the P2K programs to find my phone at all.

Anyone else have this happen, or know what to do to fix it?

Yeah my p2k isn't working either. I followed what you said about the mpt and I've been sitting for 5 minutes and it still says "Phone Image not available" and "Intalizing..."

BUMP

Anyone have any ideas that will help us out?

I can't get P2K programs to work so I can't work with my Java games, or edit any files.

I could realy use some help with this one.
MPT works fine for me, even with Bluetooth now. (had to change the driver installed)

the driver must be install to have these software work. Look in your phone & modem menu under control panel for motorola usb modem. Delete that and replug your phone in puter.

If you still cant get it to recongize, try turning off and on the phone while the phone is plug in puter. That might help as well.

There should be a language selection under p2ktool for english.

I have it set on english, it only seems to show the main portions in english though.

The settings and announcements are mostly like those in the pic above.
