Guys out there, plz help me, recently my cousin purchased Nokia 7610. everythin was going on smoothly till he activated GPRS on his phone. He was using the AirTel Live to browse and download ringtones, etc. Yesterday dont know what he did, the phone is behaving strangely. Every half hour there is a message in the outbox waiting to be sent, it is kinda attachment of different .sis files with strange messages (viz. "Its your birthday", "Desktop manager" in the subject line) to different numbers. I tried F-Secure antivirus, it scanned all the files but couldn't detect any virus, now the strange thing is every few minutes the phone is restarting itself.

Please tell me what to do????

thanks in advance

I would recommend to format the memory card and the phone. He will lose everything he save on the phone, but at least he will ge trid of the virus.

Read the FAQ, it tells you how, you may need a card reader and reformat it with FAT16, not FAT32.

To format the phone:
Turn phone off, press and hold the green (talk) key on the left + number 3 on the keypad + the * key and then turn the phone back on.

To format the memory card:
Use a card reader or use the phones internal formating option.
(there should be in the "Organiser"-folder a application called "memory")

Same here buddy (friendsbhavik), i am also new to this kind of phones, i dont mind formatting the phone and losing all my contacts, what i want is to rectify the problem.

Dear Moderator, apart from formatting the phone is there a way to rectify the problem, and as written by friendsbhavik, does formatting the phone means the OS will be removed or not????
