Hello Everyone,
I am new here, great to be here. Perhaps you can help me answer my question. Can an account manager, or anyone for that matter, view the content of sent and received text messages? The reason I asked is because I recently purchased a V3 razr and decided to go onto my companies Cingular plan with it. One day I was bored looking at backgrounds in the Cingular MEdia section of my phone. I tried to enlarge the one picture called "Lisa in a tiny thong" and then realized, "Oh crap, I just purchased that!" So... the other day I went into work and the guy who handles our cellphone account was logged into Cingular's site and said something about being able to see my text messages because someone sent me a message about someone in a thong. Although they didn't care they were getting on me about it a bit.
The thing I am wondering is that he said "I am able to see your text messages", but he is a little computer illiterate, and I am not sure if he meant just things that I have purchased (i.e. ringtones, games, graphics). It isn't that I send anything too personal through text messaging, but I don't like the idea of him being able to read my conversations. So, long story short... is anyone (other than possibly the government and some company execs at cingular) able to view text messages sent and received anywhere other than on my phone itself (i.e. online or on the bill)?
Thank you so much for your replys. I appreciate any input you might have.

No, the contents of your text messages can't be read, online or anywhere else. The items purchased however, ringtones, wallpapers etc, are labled with their name/description so that is not private.

Ok , the answer is YES !!!
All the text messages you made will be stored into the computer system from Cingular ... the ONLY persons can be review them is , the Primary account holder , Cingular or federal agency !!!
Sicne your phone serivce are belong to your company ( Primary account holder ) , so your company can able to review all your "Incoming calls #, Outgoing calls #, Text messages"
And Of course , Federal Agency have the right to reveiw anyone text messages under a proper authorized court order !!! now a day many Illegal Activity , they don't used phone conversation to doing business , because Agency can easy recording there conversation ... so they getting smart into TEXT MESSAGES instead .. However , if the federal agency can get a Proper Authorized Letters from Court , they can ASK the cell phone provider to RELEASE the Text Messages conversation >>>

Thank you for your responses, yet I am getting mixed answers.
I know you can view purchased items (such as ringtones and backgrounds), and I know you can view incoming and outgoing numbers and the number of text messages sent and received, but is the account manager able to review the actual content of them? Are they able to do this merely by logging into cingular.com or do they have to request such information?
I need someone who has access to an online account to go online and see if they can find any of the text messages they have send or received online. The content of them, not the number of messages.
Thank you, I REALLY appreciate this.

1. As my understanding , 95% YES >>> your account manager cn able to review everyone of the Cingular TEXT Content !!!
I believe your account manager or COMPANY had requested to ENABLE all the TEXT Content from everyone company phone's , so he'll have the access to review them ALL , and since he is the ONLY 1 taken care of all the account , so he is also the ONLY 1 have the PASSWORD to access >>>
2. Since the account is belong to your COMPANY , you'll NOT have any access of that to review anything , unless you knew acces PASSWORD !!!
Samething as a personal account , service provider will NOT give out any information to someone else but the account holder ONLY !!

I am the account holder for my cell phone service. How do I view all the text messages sent to and from my cell phones? I really need to view these and would greatly appreciate any help. My service is through Cingular.
Thanks in advance.

I dont know about reading and viewing text messages online with Cingular.
I dont acutally think it is possible, not via cingular.com my account management.
cell_site might be saying something that is well, untruthful, being a primary account holder myself, Ive never found any option to view my sent and/or received message contents via online.

cell_site was saying that you personally, the account holder could view contents of messages online, which if you can, you have to go throught a lot of loopholes to do, cause I cant honestly say that I have ever found that part of my online account management service.
It only makes sense for tech reps and cingular themselfs being able to view the contents, as it does pass throught thier network and it is most likely logged for government requests and things.
