i have a motorola v3 razor(black) and i want to know how to unlock it for free. If anyone can let me know how to do it that would be great.

Call your provider and ask for the unlock code. I did this with Cingular and they took my information and then emailed the unlock code and instructions in a few days. They even called and let me know that the email had been sent.

pay for remote unlocking online, send you phone to Old Fool (moderator in this forum) for unlocking.

I called Cingular to get my new V3 unlocked and they agreed. They are going to email it to me within 3 - 5 business days. Our company has a corporate contract with them so that probably helped.
They did ask me some strange questions like: how much did you pay for the V3. How long have you had the contract with us? I told them the truth because they know the truth since my account would reflect it.

Do you remember what number you called. I noticed that it really depends on who you talk to at Cingular as to whether you will get the code or not. Thanks

I just called the normal 800# from the Cingular website under "Contact Us". Another idea is to go to the local reseller (if you purchased it from them instead of Cingular). Those guys have more pull with Cingular if you are their customer. This worked for my friend.

thanks, I have since purchased a Smart Clip to unlock, but I tried for about 6 months to get the sub codes and cingular would not give them up.
