I recently got a text message from a friend and once i read the text the "envelope icon" that displays beside the message appeared to be split in half. The little envelope was in two pieces. Ive had this phone for about 1 year and Ive never seen this before on my phone. Soon after, that same day, a couple of pixels on my screen started to turn yellow. First it was a couple and now it keeps spreading. Someone told me it may be a virus, but I've never heard of that, any clues? i have a photo but dont know how to post it.

i know this probably has nothing to do with it, but does your phone sit atop a HUGE magnet all day?, maybe a fualty screen, or firmware needed, the two are not interconnencted

I have the same thing on my T610...yellow pixels slowly spreading. At the moment maybe 20 or 30 pixels in an irregular pattern. Hoping it will stop before the screen is covered.

The Envelop Split In 1/2 Is Just A Damaged Message. Not Your Fault.
But Its Kinda Weird Same Thing Happend To My Friends Phone (T610)
A Giant Yellow Spot Took Over His Phone.

same problem, T610 yellow bad pixels are spreading, in 1 weeks it went from a few to now about 30-40
it do not look exactly like dead pixels on a laptop or digital camera, so I’m not sure if its actually the LCD or the chip that controls the pixels
but if it continues like this the phone will be useless in less then 2 months
i do not think it s virus nor anything to do with that email, i think its a t610 problem as several people have the same exact issue

Hi, about a week ago, I noticed about 8-10 yellow pix on my T616. Just the other day, I noticed it was about 30-40 pix - looks like a scribble, almost an organic thing, like an actual virus strain spreading out.
Has anyone figured this out? Any word from Sony-Ericson or your providers?
Thanks,
-Mark

It's highly unlikely that it's a virus. You probably just need to replace the LCD screen.

i posted above that i have the same problem !!!
now i buyed and used screen for the t610 it works 100% fine now
(you have to consider the the t610 and some other models display looks just about identical but they not, the display from t630 i try it fit but did not work)
so it is a proven fact that its a display error and no virus
the used display was about $20 and it tuke less then 15 minutes to install
