Hi! I'm having a problem with my C100 and the data cable... I have installed EasyGPRS and the modem driver (com1) and i get the same "offline" mode... my phone is making a beep sound... and nothing! I think it's a firmware problem or something ...
Can u help me?

I had the same problem w/my v205, but it turned out that the generic cable that i got was incompatible. so i got an OEM cable.
What kinda cable do you have?

i dunno i got mine off of ebay
the address is
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3384038069&catego ry=42412&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWN%3AIT&rd=1

have a look, its a usb cable that uses a serial to usb bridge converter or something like that. i think it would work fine if the cable wouldnt turn the phone off i dunno why it does it, could it be something to do with the pins in the cable? ive emailed the people who sold me the cable and had no reply, i guess i wont get my money back, waste of £7, unless anyone has any ideas icon_biggrin.gif on how to get it working

well peeps, I found the sure fire answer to this problem... here u go... I copied it off another forum... (tnx jamm)

The correct procedure is to get your IrDA device working before you even try to use the EasyGPRS software.

Select "IrDA activated" on your (phone) device and place it within a few inches of your Ir sensor. You should see the IR Icon "double up", meaning its "talking" to your system. Once this occurs, go to Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager. Select "Modem" and double-click on "Standard Modem over IR link #?". Go to the "Modem" tab and you will see the word "Port" followed by the word "Com?" (? will be a number) Write this number down it will be used later in the EasyGPRS Setup procedure.

Now, start the EasyGPRS program... The Icon at the bottom will say "Offline". Go to the "File" menu and select "Setup". Under the option that says "Port", select the "Com?" which was obtained from the "Modem" option under "Device Manager" in Control Panel.(If the Com number doesn't exist, type it in the space provided) Fill in the rest of the info, end this screen, and Voila the "Offline" will change to the device your using and will start downloading your data.

As long as you don't change the USB cable location the Com Port number should stay the same. This is where the confusion seems to come from. You must make sure the Com? in the Modem area of Control Panel agrees with the Com? in the Setup area of EasyGPRS...

mine worked without this!!!
