I am using the IrDA port and the speed at default... I tried lowering it down but gave me a message of "turn EasyGPRS online". what is the problem here? how do i turn it online? pls help...i've had this for a month now and i still can't figure it out...hehe

Stumbled on the following solution to EasyGPRS insistently saying it was offline.
I have an S307 with a SigmaTel IrDA. Windows XP says that IR is working. EasyGPRS did not work with any settings of the Ports it listed in the drop down list - COM1 through COM13 and IrDA. I typed in COM15 as the port and EasyGPRS then worked! (F3 worked to go online and I could then see the contents of my SIM card and transfer images to the phone.)
Noticed that XP had assigned COM15 to my IR Modem. Presume that the COM number will be different for other systems. Suggest trying a COM number 1 or 2 higher than those listed in the drop down list.
Good luck.

well peeps, I found the sure fire answer to this problem... here u go... I copied it off another forum... (tnx jamm)
The correct procedure is to get your IrDA device working before you even try to use the EasyGPRS software.
Select "IrDA activated" on your (phone) device and place it within a few inches of your Ir sensor. You should see the IR Icon "double up", meaning its "talking" to your system. Once this occurs, go to Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager. Select "Modem" and double-click on "Standard Modem over IR link #?". Go to the "Modem" tab and you will see the word "Port" followed by the word "Com?" (? will be a number) Write this number down it will be used later in the EasyGPRS Setup procedure.
Now, start the EasyGPRS program... The Icon at the bottom will say "Offline". Go to the "File" menu and select "Setup". Under the option that says "Port", select the "Com?" which was obtained from the "Modem" option under "Device Manager" in Control Panel.(If the Com number doesn't exist, type it in the space provided) Fill in the rest of the info, end this screen, and Voila the "Offline" will change to the device your using and will start downloading your data.
As long as you don't change the USB cable location the Com Port number should stay the same. This is where the confusion seems to come from. You must make sure the Com? in the Modem area of Control Panel agrees with the Com? in the Setup area of EasyGPRS...

There are couple things I want to add:
1. Make sure you point the USB_IRDA right at your phone's IRDA (That little black thing on the side of your phone). Once you do that, you should see the little icon pop up on the lower right hand corner near your clock at your XP.
2. The "Standard Modem over IR link" would not show up on your modem list UNTILL you establish the IRDA connection. Than you can check the Port and speed.
3. If you can do that, the EasyGPRS will be online.
Good luck, I just got the BAFO Vishay V6102F and works great.

I have the same SIGMATEL USB-iRDA. Mine wouldn't work until I changed a few settings.
Double click the "safetly remove hardware" icon in the system tray, you'll see the sigmatel listed. Right click>properties click advanced tab, click speed enable and lower to 9600. Change the speed settings in EasyGPRS and you should be good to go...worked for me anyhow.
As far as downloading pics into the phone. Though the specs on this phone say 128X128, you have to factor in the menu bars, so it'll only take 128X97 BUT I couldn't get 128X97 to download no matter how small the file size was, but if I shrank the pic to 128X96 it worked fine. No idea why, but it works. Been downloading pics in like a mofo.
