I don't have a link but I remember a study published in the last year that said that handsfree setups don't really make you that much safer than holding the phone. Apparently anything as distracting as talking on a phone is going to impair your ability to drive.

I use my phone when I drive but I trust me and I know I will drop the phone when I  have to

A simple combination of of Potassium Nitrate (Saltpeter), Icing sugar and a small ammount of sulfur makes a great smoke bomb. A pop can of the stuff can fill a city block.
