hi! this may sound very similar to a lot of threads already, but its not quite the same so im not just repeating what everyone else has already said!
ive recently bought a samsung E330. i went onto the samsung mobile website and downloaded the software which they said goes with my phone (Samsung PC Studio PIM & File Manager 1.0). the program will open up fine. i just want to say that i do not get the 'cannot open port and program switched in offline mode after, switch in online mode' like so many other people seem to get. the only thing at the moment i think my problem is, is that i can't put it in online mode. ive tried the F3 way - is there any other way of doing it? (btw i have an official samsung serial cable n all that so that shouldnt be the problem)
thanks for any help!

Do you mean that after you press F3, it can detect your phone? However, everytime you start PIMS, it can't detect your phone and go to offline until you press F3. Is that what you mean?

For E330, the official Samsung cable is PCB133NSEC/STD, are you using that cable? As for PIMS, althought different model may use the same program name (PIMS) they are not necessary the same. Hence, it is better to use the one that is for E330. You can get it from the following link:

I suppose you have setup PIMS correct for Ports and the speed at 115200. Am I right? When you plug the cable to your phone, does it wake up the phone?

I am not sure if it is the same for serial cable. When I plug my usb cable to my E316, it will wake up the phone from idle state, the front LCD backlight will go on.
As for website for PCB133NSEC, it is hard to find the exact same, but I found PCB133LBE from the following website and they claim it works for E330.
