I have a cingular version of the V3. I have PST 6.7 patched running on XP SP2. I have the cingular monster flash update....
When I flash the phone I get
'Flash File:C\V3\R374_G_0E.40.57R_PDS001_LP0003_DRM0001_JPJAVA_G_0E_V3_06_03R _GSMV3xxCIN01NA065_1FF.shx USB Port:0 Error:FLASH failed! *********Flash FAILED!!!*********'
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

I think it means that it can't see your phone, see it says "USB Port:0" that normally means that nothings in the USB port.

Thanks. It sees the phone in the PST GUI, and boots the phone into the boot loader - I see the phone being interigated.
I simply want to try and enable the video capabilities of the phone, and add some of the additional functionality, like faster menu's and multiple character phone book searching.
I will try using a different USB port perhaps... Any more ideas would greatefully received, and thanks Darknova for your responce!

No, I think I know what this is all about.
I'm no long-standing expert of this world of flashing/flexing phones but I have been oding it non-stop since getting two V3's from ebay last week, one for me and one for my wife.
I run my own I.T. company so naturally the first tihng i wanted to do was plaster my company logo all over it, get rid of the O-2 (local provider) graphics etc...
Then I found this forum... and the rest has been a glorious bumpy ride over the last 2 days solid of programming then reprogramming phones.
Fun.
Soooooooo, I think that what you're getting is an incompatability with the BootLoader and the version of flash you're trying to load on.
I was using a boot loader older than 0823 (or 08.23) and was happily flashing versions around the 40 area (like 3CR, 3ER etc) but then I tried one of the newer ones (like the new 42.08R) but although they flashed on ok, the phone wouldn't boot.
THEN I found the bootloader update to verion 08.23. This I flashed onto my phone and then tried the new 42.08R and it worked!
Unfortunately, when I tried to flash back down to 3CR again to test the differences, it gave me the exact error that you got. As far as I can tell, only two flash/monster packs work on 08.23 so far that I have tried;
41.C2R
42.08R
I now have on my phone a FLASH file of 42.08R and a Flex version of GTMV3xx000AALV0C3.
This gives me a very stable phone with both video camera and normal camera modes.
Also allows contact search by multiple letters.
I suggest checking your bootloader version (switch off your phone then hold down the # and * key then hold on the power button) If you're on 08.23 or higher then thats your problem. Grab from motox.us the versions I suggested above and install those instead.
I do use PST version 7.2.3 GENERAL but I think it make little difference - just thought I'd mention it just in case.
A lot of babble but Im positive I'm accurate.
Thanks

Bloody awesome! I actually came back to my post to say I look to have applied R374_G_0E.42.08R_reflash_mlp_MOTOX.shx without a hitch, but reading your reply, maybe it won't boot once it's finished! OH SUCH JOY!
If so, I shall be doing as you have, and good old motox.us
Your reply is very informative, and also being in IT I am wanting to customise to the max! Got'a love this geeky stuff ha!
Thanks very much!

I now have
S/W:R374_G_0E.42.08R
Flex: GSMV3xxCIN02NA0A5
I have a 'Cingular' Branded V3, so I wonder if I need a S/W: specific for the Cingular? I do not have video capability with the above S/W and Flex versions..... (
