Hi all, I've recently been keeping up with all the cool things that can be done to the Motorolas. This forum has a great wealth of information.

I have a quick question regarding my attempt to upgrade my flash file from a R374_F_OE.40.9ER to the R374_G_0E.42.08R using the MultiFlashFlex 1.8 program. I get the following error "Cannot access Motorola Flash interface".

I currently have a Motorola Razr V3 and have used the MPT to load mp3s, P2KMan to delete unwanted pics and vids, and uploaded java games through Midway. So, I know the PC to phone connection is there. Also, I am running PST 7.1.1. Am I missing a driver or patch?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Close everything else while using Multi FF, get fone into flash mode and try it. I always had problems ( Flash failed) when try to flash v3 files untill i changed to PST 7.2.3.
Try to re patch to make sure is not a bad idea either, there are total of six files to be patch

Thanks Old_Fool. As soon as I get my hands on PST 7.2.3, I'll give it a try.

You just need to go to hardware manager, scan for new hardware, you will get prompted to install driver, you will need to locate the driver because your pc will prob not be able to locate, the driver is called p2k.sys and is located in you p2kman folder. I received the same error when using pst 6.7 (yeah I know im still using this version) and I did the following steps and everything went smoothly there after.

I just upgraded to the R374_G_OE.42.09R. I am currently at 8.2MB after the upgrade and some minor P2K editing. Thank you guys so much for all your advice. I finally was able to upgrade the flash by going to motoaide and downloading the latest p2k file(5-27-04) and updating the driver. Thanks again guys.

I have a quick question. The new Razr that is about to come out has some upgraded features like video calling. If we flash our old v3 Razrs with the new Razrs firmware would we get some of the upgraded features?

The new Motorolas that will come out (in the case you speak of, the V3X) will not be compatible at ALL with the current ones. Motorola has announced a new OS that will be on the phones, a Linux variant. Looks like we'll have to rewrite the books once these guys come out icon_biggrin.gif

Here's a good read from phonescoop:
