Unlocking the firmware? You may want to check out the forum for your phone type and see if there is a way to do that.

A t-mobile device will not be able to access media most t-mobile devices are locked to t-mobile internet and will not allow the settings to be changed even with the subsidy unlock code that will just unlock the device to use other sims not the internet

Did anyone ever find a solution to this problem? I know this is a very old issue and I'm hoping there's a easy solution now. : )
I have a Dolce Gabanna Tmobile Razr V3i and have it unlocked to AT&T so that I can make voice calls and use Txt messaging. However, opening photos and using media net is impossible.
How do you unlock the websessions on Tmobile? If it were a AT&T phone going back to Cingular websessions, it would be easy, because those menus are not locked. Unfortunately, this is not the case with Tmobile phones.
I've heard about P2K, but that isn't working. Or else I need step by step instructions.
I know this can be done, people do it all the time. I've searched everywhere.
Thank you!
Help : )

BrunetteDol,
You need to first install the drivers for your phone. Your best bet is to get a copy of RSD Lite (which is not legitimately obtainable without working for Motorola) OR try to install just the drivers with Motorola's Driver Installation package, available in this link. RSD Lite is the best (you just plug in your phone and then run the program and it automatically installs the correct drivers), but since its not available legitimately, I can't help you there...
The second thing you'll need is a P2K program. When I had a RAZR and then a PEBL, my favorite was P2K Advanced Editor - its got the most user-friendly interface. It offers easy access to basic functions - like web sessions, which is what you need to access. It also allows for more advanced changes, should you wish to do that: namely SEEM edits. Its ability to search SEEM edits and have them labeled allows for easy changes.
However, I feel obligated to warn you that if you mess up your phone while editing the SEEM, you won't get support from AT&T or T-Mobile and you might end up with a pretty brick. Take time to research what you're doing.
Its too much to try to anticipate what all you might need. I recommend doing your homework over at Planet MotoX - they offer monster pack flashes (you'll learn what those are), links to software you'll need and a forum that is dedicated to hacking the RAZR V3i.
Their home page is: http://www.planetmotox.net.
The forum for the RAZR V3i is: "RAZR V3i (R479 & R47A iTunes)"
As a bonus, here is the guy who started it ALL with hacking the RAZR - no kidding. His website can literally walk you through EVERYTHING you'd ever want to do with your phone. I bought his pdf guide when I had a regular RAZR - it was worth every penny (of its $5 charge!).
His website is: http://www.hackthev3i.com/.
Good luck with your phone!
- Jacob M.
