You can but you need to be able to send the ringtone out via text. You also must be able to have internet capability activated on the phone to download the ringtone. I have done so many time with this phone using freeringers.net. I'm sure there are other websites to do this but this is the one I use. Good luck!!!

I found this app called "xingtones" which allowed me to download a ringtone I made, but that brings me to another question. What is the max size a ringtone can be for this phone? The filesize for the ringtone I created weighed in at 500k and the phone only got about 65k of it meaning the tune got cut off abruptly. By changing the bitrate, I have further reduced it to 137k.

Ok there are a lot of programs that let you convert tones for your LG phone. Media Magix, Xingtones, and Yamaha has a program too (it's free on the website i think) The easiest way to do it would be to send it via data cable, but there isn't software out for the c2000 yet because it's so new. As to the file size you can put on your LG, it tends to vary, but generally between 40 and 70K is the max size allowed. There is another website fun for mobile(all one word) dot com , that will send your tone to your phone for free, you just have to pay the service provider wireless internet

Wow! 70k is a pathetic amount of memory to restrict one to. I can go to Best Buy and purchas a 128 MB SD card for $30. I wish phone makers would allow more phones with upgradable memory or charge me the extra $$ and put a decent amount in it so I can get more out of the phone.
