the v220 alway has problem. try using p2kman if you are planning to upload ringers/wallpaper only.

I have a V220 and I never had a problem. First of all, did you run live update? And when you say you installed the drivers - did you or did MPT? I would try uninstalling everything, run live update to get the latest version of MPT, you have version 3(what )? And whenn you run thne program just follow the prompts about installing drivers. I have also found that power cycling the phone is sometimes helpful.

If you are stuck at the initializing or what not just let MPT run it course. Now after few min you should see a picture of the fone is pop up on your desk top, click on the menu key on that fone picture -->set up--> F6 general set up-->communication-->modem exchange-->choose from list--> on your left choose motorola GSM on your right fine V220 click finish now it should work
