I started service with Cingular on July 19, 2005. I noticed that the "lifetime" calls on my Motorola v551 shows over 1080 hours. That is impossible because I only had the phone a few months and, according to Cingular, I have approximately 45 hours on my cell phone since I started the service. I contacted Motorola and according to the serial number of my cell phone the phone was manufactured on June 2005...so it is a new phone. I asked Motorola how I can reset my cell phone to 45 hours and they told me to contact Cingular. I contacted Cingular and they told me to contact Motorola. Can someone help me resolve this issue? Neither Motorola nor Cingular has an answer for me. This is ridiculous!

This issue is more of a curiosity than substance. I just want to know why my new cell has over 1080 hours as lifetime calls than the approximate 45 hours of actual lifetime calls since I started using this new cell phone on July 19. Motorola has told me to contact Cingular and Cingular has told me to contact Motorola. As stated in my previous post, the cell phone, according to it's serial number, was made in June 2005 so it is indeed a brand new cell phone. What's disconcerting is that neither Motorola nor Cingular has any answers for me. If I use approximately 1000 minutes per month that is 12000 minutes per year. 1080 hours equals 64800 minutes divided by 12000 minutes per year equals 5.4 years of use on a cell phone that is approximately 3 months old. Like I said the issue is more than principle that substance. I find it odd that neither Motorola nor Cingular can tell me how over 1000 hours of lifetime calls got on my cell phone. Thank you for your reply.
