Hi. First of all might I say that I think that these forums are great, and I have already found answers to many of my questions, so thank you guys very much.

Unfortunately I still have like one major question and a few minor ones.

As the title implies, I recently purchased an unlocked tmobile razr, which I planned on using on Cingular. I actually have an AT&T sim card and still an AT&T plan, since it is was cheaper than converting to a cingular plan. This is also why I have a Tmobile phone, because Cingular refused to sell me a phone without switching to a Cingular plan.

Anyways, the phone so far has worked great for calls and text messages. However, I cannot access mmode or wireless internet or whatever Cingular is calling it now (is it still mmode?)

When I hit the globe button or go to "web access" through office tools, it shows the "tzones" loading animation (I know it can be changed/removed), then the browser launching. After it launches, I just get a white screen that says "Network Not Available."

Formerly I was using a Nokia 6820 and I can confirm that I could still access mmode. I know I could possbily just flash in Cingular firmware, but I am very wary of doing so since I am new to this whole Motorola modding thing (although I find it really awesome), and I really don't want to break the new expensive phone I have. I can just see myself messing it up.

Anyways, I was wondering if there was some way to configure the web browser to just connect to mmode or whatever cingular is calling it. I have searched, and found some information, but nothing that has worked.

there are settings in http://forums.mobiledia.com/viewtopic.php?t=20335 and http://www.motoaide.com:8081/faq.htm#Wap for connecting, I figured the motoaide one was probably more recent and I was going to try that. However, I cannot access the menus described in either guide.

In the mobiledia thread, the instructions are to "1. Click your Menu
2. Click Settings
3. Click WEB ACCESS
4. Click Web Sessions
5. Click [New Entry]"

however, when I go to settings, there is no "WEB ACCESS" menu, nor can I find anything similar to it. icon_sad.gif The menus described on the motoaide site are about the same.

I have no idea how to access the WEB ACCESS configuration dealie. I thought maybe I had found a solution in this helpful thread: http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic30504.html

I have media net (WAP service) but I cannot create or edited a web session to access the web.
Taken from xlr8

On certain flexes, the web session profiles under Web Access > Web Sessions are locked and cannot be edited or deleted.
Here's how to unlock them so you can edit them or delete them.
Using P2Kman, download the file /a/WebSession
Open this file in your XVI32.
You'll see the information from each profile under Web Access > Web Sessions
To unlock a web session, find the name of the web session in the file on the text side.
Look at the three offsets prior to the first letter on the hex side.
You should see 03 05 00. (You may see 01 05 00.)
Change the middle number to "04". (You should have 03 04 00 or 01 04 00.)
Reupload the WebSession file to the /a/ directory.
Make sure you change the attribute on the file to "4"
Restart your phone and you can now edit or delete that web session!

I tried this, and the only web session I could find was "t zones". I changed the 03 05 00 to 03 04 00, reuploaded, and restarted, and nothing worked. I wasn't sure if this was going to help me as I cannnot access "Web Access" anyways to get to the web sessions, is there something else I need to do to get to the "Web Access" menu in the settings?

Well, this is my last major concern with the phone, and any help would be appreciated, I would really like to access the mmode since I have a plan on my account and otherwise it would just be going to waste.

a few other minor questions I have...I was thinking of starting another thread for them but I figured they were such newbie questions whoever else has bothered to read this could probably help me out.

On motox.us under the guide to de-brand your phone, they say that if you "Delete DL_DB_INET_RECORDS file in /a/ folder" it will "Getting rid of provider shop links"...does this mean that deleting the file will get rid of all the "New Wallpapers" etc Tzone links in the multimedia folders? That would be pretty awesome, but I don't want to to do this if it has any adverse effects.

Also, my other question is probably really dumb but I dunno I just wanted to make sure. If I want to free up space, can I delete "locked" files [for instance the hellomoto.3gp video file or the tmobile wallpaper in my pictures] using p2kman safely? I don't want to delete them and then find out the phone is really mad they're not there and decide to not let me make calls or something.

Well, sorry if this whole topic has been answered elsewhere, I did try searching a lot but unfortunately have not been able to solve my problem. I know my post is lengthy so I also apologize for that, but I'm sure that if anyone can help me it's the great people at this forum!

Please let me know if there is any additional information/clarifications I can provide. Thanks in advance!

Okay after reading more, I'm pretty sure I just need to be able to unlock the "Web Access" category in the settings menu, however I can find no ideas on how to do so. I mean, it should be there, right?

If anyone has any ideas I'd be ever so greatful.

I have a Motorola V330 phone that used to work with T Mobile and now I have Cingular... I can't figure out using the T Zones menu where to change the settings to use MediaNet/Cingular internet... My plan also have internet usage so I'm wasting $ paying $90 and can't use the 'net... I wish someone could tell me what menu options to use in T Zones to access the settings... in T Mobile the Settings menu shows the following: personalize, ring styles, call forward, in call setup, initial setup, phone status, headset, car settings, network security, java settings... inside network i have: new network, network setup, available network and call drop tone...
obviously those are not the same as in Cingular's menu and no one can tell me what to do with T Mobile...
if you have figured it out please email me... my user name here @ sbcglobal.net
thanks!

Sorry for resurrecting a dead thread, but I'm also unable to connect using Cingular's settings (Cingular branded Pink V3 RAZR). Now, I know why - they simply forgot to turn on my GPRS on my account when I bought the new phone, which I'll rectify tomorrow at a store front.

Problem is, I have a ton of locked web sessions that I got by using Cingular's GPRS and MMS configurator and I can't unlock them to delete them. I followed the instructions in this thread. Was able to find two of my locked entries in WebSession, but just 00's surrounding them. The other one (called Express1) just simply isnt in the WebSession file. Just trying to get rid of some clutter here.

Thanks for any help.

Delete the websession file in the phones a/ folder and restart the phome and you will get a new blank file.

To delete individual entries:
Use P2K advanced Editor ( P2KAE )
Open and go to websessions
Press read phoneYou will see
Edit Session > enable - disable
Delete Session > enable - disable (Press enable if you want to delete)
Press Save Session
Press Write to phone
Resart phone

You must do this for each web session you want to remove

This puts this feature in your menu so you can delete individual sessions as you wish from the phone

Got this from T-Mobile. However it will only allows you to unlock th phone. It has web sttings but I can't acsess it. It seems that I would need a different code for that. I hope it helps to ones that need this and if you find the way to open web settings let me know.
Further more when you go T-Zones it wil show network unavailable. If you press menu button below screen go to security and get nto certificates or similar. You will find that T-Mobile settings are locked and most likely a dfault since the phone was phurchased at T-Mobile.
Got same problem about web settings other then that phone works fine in UK.
I would not have purcheased the phone from T-Mobile if had known that even after unlocking the sim, ASSHOLES @ T-MOBlLE have still got their ass in my phone. it is like getting computer that has only one internet provider and you can't change it.

Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. Below you will see the Instructions for unlocking your Motorola device.

Before you start you must have a foreign (non-T Mobile) SIM card entered into the handset. If the display reads "Enter Special Code", enter the unlock code and press "OK". If the display does not ask for Special code, please enter the instructions below.

1.Press the Menu key on the keypad, and then quickly press 073887*.You should see the Enter Security Code screen.
2.Enter 000000 and select OK.
3.Scroll to Unlock SIM select it.
4.Enter the SIM unlock code and select OK.
5.Press the End key to return to the main screen.
