Yes, im using v3.11 of mpt and have win xp sp2
I appreciate the help you are giving old_fool. Ive tried what you said and the same problem occurs. Heres the steps Ive tried.
Step 1.
Reboot PC
PC boots up
Plug in mini-usb into phone then into pc.
windows wizard pops up.
I direct it to the files mpt/inf
it downloads
I start up MPT
click new
enter name test4
click usb cable,
reboot my phone
on phone startup ( the clock starts wizzing around for about 5mins)
it shows wrong phone picture. and says intilizing
I click menu>setup>general setup>communcation>I click change modem I found motoral v3 under GSM.
It shows the picture of my phone. Says inilitizing for about 10mins.
Then it says Mobile not connected.
Ive tried skipping the windows wizard and going straight to mpt and thru those steps as well.
Now when i go to device manager under modems, it lists conexant D850 56k V.9x DFVc Modem ( isuppose this is the phone modem.)
This is getting quite annoying and if you are willing unless you already know a fix or have another method for me to try, i'd like to use netmeeting and give u control of my pc so you can go in and try to install this and just tell me when to plug in my phone etc... (just a suggestion)

i have never done that before so don't know how it will work.
When you check for modem you have to have fone plug in , if you did have forn plug in at the time then some how it did not install the modem of your fone . It's should be somthing like motorola usb modem.
Click on menu ley of the fone skin on your desk top and do live update to get the latest 3.28

I've clicked live update multiple times and nothing happens...

okay I have no idea what to do with my usb cord and my phone it is saying it can't fine the hardeware Please help
