I've pretty much decided I want to get a Blackberry and I actually like the 7100g better than the 7100t (I'd thought of going to T-Mo due to the cost of their unlimited data plan).
First, if unlocked, can I use the 7100g on the T-Mo system and vice versa?
(Do all functions work?)
Also, advice on available Cingular phone/data plans for a blackberry without going into debt every month. I use about 250 minutes a month and would need to use BB for email and web.

Well, for voice usage the cheapest voice plan is currently running at 39.99 with Cingular, it gives you 450 rollover, N&W, MtM, and nationwide coverage. You would then require a seperate data add on plan. I had a look on www.cingular.com and noticed they only have 2 Blackberry Data Plans listed, 39.99 for 4mb then 0.01$ for each addtl KB. And 49.99 for unlimited usage.
I also noticed that there are some PDA Data Connect plans available for as cheap as 19.99 for 5MB and 0.0080$ for each addional KB of usage. I'm not sure if you can have a Data Connect plan on your blackberry though (I only work with Digital accounts, and this would be GSM)
Can we get a Cingular GSM rep to verify this for us?

Thanks for the info.
Can anyone give me an idea of how much 4mg of data would be? I'm clueless as to file sizes (just don't pay attention I guess). Doesn't sound like much if emails have attached docs or spreadsheets.
Anyone have this plan and do you find it sufficient?

I pulled this info out of our systems here in Care, I'm pretty sure this is half decently accurate. Hope this helps.

Data connect, and PDA plans won't work for blackberry because blackberry uses an overlaying network and blackberry servers to forward email etc.
The best bet is go for the umlimited plan for 44.99 with voice service.
If you only want the web/email service it's 49.99 without a voice plan, but every call you make is 45 cents a minute....
Hope this helps
