Hey guys,

I just bought a V551m and was wondering about battery life. Is it better to charge the battery every night or wait for the battery to be almost empty to charge her?

I'd like my battery to last a long time so that's why I ask.

Thanks a lot!

it is fine to charge every night; however, you should recycle the battery by charging it when it reaches in the red every so often to retain's battery full capacity.

First charge should be a good 8-10 hrs, after that i always run mine down to the last bar, then recharge until "charge complete" appears.I try and avoid leaving my phone charge over night????

I killed my battery after it's first charge and it took between 6 and 20hrs to fully charge back up, (I had to leave it plugged in while I went to work).
How friggin' long should it take to charge a Razr battery anyway? (the regular one that it came with, not extended)

Recomend to have the first charge for about 12 hours.
Her life will last long if you keep using it regularly, that means use it till it is empty and stop charging it when it is complete.

I think I need to correct a few misconceptions here, Lithium Ion batteries (which Moto uses) shouldn't always be run till flat. You should try to keep it above 30%, but once a month run it till flat, this keeps it at optimum.

aw im screwed ... i heard not to over do the battery charge..so i misinterpreted that on the 1st charge.. so my 1st charge is like 1 1/2 hours worth... i have charged it like 3 times already...and unpluggin it once it hits 'fully chargeed'... should my 4th be like 8-10 hours..? i run my battery down too..cuz i heard that would help...but i guess not to do that anymore till 2 bars i guess..its funny how batter length on status goes down by 2 but never 1...hm?

I'm not really sure what to do in that situation. The only thing I can think of is to get a new battery...from where I'm not sure. You can get a load of cheap batteries off eBay, but I wouldn't trust them and the ones from the moto site are probably over-priced.
