What am I doing wrong, that is causeing me to be unable to upload games??

www.mobileaction.com is the official website of the provider of the main software I use for transfering data and what not to and from the phone and it works perfectly and I have been able to create quite a few of my own ringtones and what not..... BUT NOW I am trying to upload some games to the phone and seem to be unable to.... MIDWAY continualy reports [TIME EXPIRED] when ever I attempt to send a JAD to the phone.... any help? I have made sure the port settings in MIDWAY and the device manager match up for the port settings, and the only place the phone is listed in the device manager is under Modems and it is listed as "MOTOROLA modem #2" and there is not another one listed.......

This is what you are doing wrong you need to right click on that motorola modem#2 to take you to it property then in there you click on the tap that said modem--> you 'll comport number and that's what you need to look for

I already checked the com port #... and made sure that midway and the device manager were on the same port....

AND .......... WHERE IS THE "tutorial section" ??? I haven't been able to find anything in/on this site that is entitled "tutorial section"..... perhaps it is called/refered to by another name ??

ALSO....... I keep reading where people refer to p2kman and java app loader and pst and the PST always has all these #'s after it.... do i download any of this from https://www.motocoder.com/motorola/pcsHome.jsp ?? or what ? and if this is the place to legally get PST which one do i get??

cant post links to PST and I didnt see it at that site, you will need to google for it. You will not be able to upload java unless you enable the java app loader, you will know when its enabled because you will be able to see it under java settings
menu>settings>java settings>java app loader

If that is not enabled it is another reason why your not able to get games to the phone.

so what does PST stand for or should i just be able to download it from a service like kaza or morpheus? so say just search for "PST" or is it not allowable to give specific search directions as long as it isn't a direct hyperlink??

also is it in anyway related to Motorola SDK v5.2.1 for J2ME or other applications like this that are provided through/from Java Sun development tools?? as in this link? http://java.sun.com/j2me/docs/
it has a ton of thing that look to me like they might be related....

and also I just wanted to say thanks for all the help icon_smile.gif

try this and if it work then you don't have to look for PST
Opcode to enable java uploader function.

This one credit to member Sirios

Press "Menu"-key and IMMEDIATELY type 048263*

You will see some requests to enter data:

Opcode- enter 47 and press OK
Field1- 50
Field2- 1
Field3- 67
Field4- 1
Field5(D)- 247

After that on display will appear Results F1:0

I think that this opt code my be s/w dependent on the V551 as it didnt work on my friends V551 but worked on his V300, give it a shot but you may have to enable through seem ediiting or with PST, I believe that PST stands for Phone Service Tool.

well I couldn't get the code to work.... at least the menu screen never changed... after hitting "048263*" so now I am looking for where to download PST and also what the most recent version of this is....

SOo.... is it alright to ask for a hyperlink to a place where i can download PST?? or it that not allowed?
