Hello everyone, I am new at modifying my V300 and have apparently done something I was not supposed to. I followed a forum string's instructions on getting rid of the Date in the main menu screen. I don't recall what that forum string exactly said, but it gave me instructions on doing it through my Op screen. I entered a series of numbers in the different fields, and at the end of it, I rebooted the phone and it hadn't worked.

Anyway, now I cannot view my Main Menu screen in the Icon format. It only shows it as a list. I click to personalize my main menu, go from List to Icons, and nothing changes. It only shows it as a list.

I haven't found any other funny bugs with it yet, everything else seems to work fine. Any idea on how to fix this? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, the main reason I'm fiddling with these forum sites and my phones is that I want to create real mp3 ringtones for my phone and I'm looking for a free, easy to use software to create them. Any suggestions or links would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Just a suggestion, maybe try a master reset.

Thanks for the help - will a master reset erase everything on my phone? Cuz that would suck...

Thanks again for the help, it's really appreciated.

I found where to Master Reset, but it's asking me for a Security Code and I have no idea what that is. I don't remember setting one...

OK, I figured out the Master Reset and did that. Unfortunately, it did not work. I still am not able to view my Main Menu as Icons instead of the list. Any other possible suggestions or combinations?

I beleive there has to be at least 9 menu items to have icons. Perhaps you deleted a menu item such as AOL.

Good thinking rmfelan, if you did indeed delete something just add it back in using p2kmenueditor

Thanks - where can I find this p2kmenueditor?

Also thanks for all the help in reflashing my phone - I've upgraded to v3 - very excited!

Now, a couple of questions about it, if nobody minds answering...
Now that my phone is unbranded, the web browser no longer connects automatically to the Rogers page. Not that I want it to, but now it's giving me a configuration screen for my browser with all this IP address request and stuff - no idea what to put in there! I'm assuming I need to contact Rogers to have that set up? It had sent me a browser message for setup, but the code it gave me was apparently incorrect...

I've been looking through this forum for ages and I haven't quite found the answer to getting the Clock from the lower left corner to disappear. I used Motokit to get rid of the GPRS (Rogers) and the Date, but no idea how to get the clock off.

I'm also looking to get the bar at the bottom of the menu screen to go transparent. I downloaded a color scheme file (spcolor.sch) that is a "transparent blue"... what do I use to get this on there?

And lastly, I want to get rid of the annoying side button beeps. Not altogether, but just make it quieter. Any ideas?

I know I lumped in a bunch of questions in this post, so if anyone does have the time/inclination to ring in a reply for me, that'd be awesome. Keep up the great work everyone!

Wow, your full of questions.....

Well if you care about the browser the settings required are as follows:
Primary IP: 208.200.067.150
Primary Port: 9203
Secondary IP: 208.200.067.151
Secondary Port: 9201
APN: goam.com
Username: wapuser1
Password: wap
HomePage: http://mymobilehomepage.rogers.com/

If you want to get rid of the clock you will need to do some skinning, or find a skin that already has the clock removed, if you are going to load skins to your phone I highly recommend p2kcommander (awesome program)

To get the transparent blue bar, rename the colour scheme that you downloaded to spcolour and load to /a/mobile/system using p2kman.

To get rid of the annoying side beeps/turn them down use xvi32 to mod the gain table, you want to change offset offset 4E to 0 (no bit manipulation just change the actual value to 00 or 01.

Rock on and happy modding!
