Hi guys ... signed up today, nice forum, hope someone can help ?
Just bought myself a N6600, love the phone/features ect but i was amazed to find out that you can run satnav and hi tec pieces of software from the phone but cant use an mp3 for a ring tone ?
I know the firmware installed is v4.09.1 and v5.64 is available for about £20 from my local dealer, but i cant seem to find any information on the upgrade, and if it sorts the mp3 prob out ?
Any information on the upgrade would be appreciated, Thanx

No, you won't be able to use mp3s as ringtones.
But you can use .wav-files which are compressed with the IMA ADPCM codec as ringtones, they are even smaller than most mp3s.

Welcome to the forumz! But make a search b4 posting as all of ur questionz been answered. Just for reminder u can't set mp3 as a tone. And if the phone is in waranty u can update to latest firm ware from nokia care centre.

y, 6600 dosen't support mp3 ringtones, but you can use ogg files as ringtones by installing oggplayer

btw, the latest firmware of 6600 in china is v5.53, is v5.64 available in your country?

Thanx for the replies, my firmware is v4.09.1 and was told by my local ctr that v5.53 was the latest (as of may 05 ) ? they were not very helpful to be honest !
converted and compressed a load of MP3 to wavs ( that sorted the ring tone prob ) you guys got to remember my last phone was a BTsavvy.....lol
