I signed up for Cigular Rollover, 1100 min Nationwide ACCT, 119.00 a month,(whatever) I have built up over 7100 mins in my rollover acct, Minutes that are paid for that are not used.... I was told at the time of my signup that "AT ANY TIME I COULD REDUCE MY PLAN AND KEEP MY MINUTES ROLLED OVER, PROVIDING THE PLAN HAS ROLLOVER." Well let it be known that I wanted to reduce my minutes to 450 minute plan, and NOW the rules are changed. The reduction in plan constitutes a LOSS of all built up minutes to the rate of the current plan,(I would lose all 7100 min except for 450) Is there anyone else out there that feels this is UNFAIR and and an illegal business practice? Is there a lawyer out there that would be interested in this as possibly a Class action? Changing the rules 1/2 way through the game is BS and I am one p*ssed cingular Customer!!!!!!

Easy on the caps.... Yeah that does suck!
Forum Rules <-about the caps thing
P.S. Most providers have a clause in their contract that says you cant start a class action lawsuit against them. It has to be just you and them...

The reason the company did that is to avoid people from doing exactly what you do. I used to recommend it all the time, but the company wants customers to stick to one plan, to obtain maximum profit. Also, it does state in your service agreement that they can change anything at anytime. You still keep your rollover minutes, you just carry over an equal amount to what is in your new rate plan. Besides, most people never touch their rollover bucket, and they just end up expiring anyway's.

You make it sound as if you are putting the blame on the customers for following the advice of the Cingular reps.
Cingular reps represent cingular, and as such, Cingular needs to be treating their words as their own when they are using these tactics to talk potential customers into committing to contracts.
It's not the Reps fault if Cingular pulled the rug out from under them without taking care of their contract customers, but Cingular's handling of this issue is indefensible. So why defend them?

I agree with ya, cingular was pretty under-handed in changing that policy like that. But you need to realize this is a Corporation, they just dont care, all they see is the $$. And the policy change was covered by the contract terms and conditions, so they are still well within their rights.
There's really not too much you can do about it. I'd suggest taking this as a learning experience, and educate yourself on your rights as a cellular subscriber, read your terms and conditions and make sure that you understand everything.

Switch to Sprint and you will not have to worry about roll over. Get the Fair and Flexible plan and if you go over just pay 5 bucks for every 50 or 100 minutes. Stop all this bs about roll over you were not going to use the extra minutes anyway.

Cingular =
39.99 for 450 minutes
rollover
unlimited mobile to mobile (52 million customers)
nationwide
nights and weekends.
Sprint 34.99 F&F =
400 minutes
+ $5.00 =
39.99 for 450 minutes
No rollover or mobile to mobile and you still get off-network roaming charges!!

Has anyone started a lawsuit against Cingular because of the rollover theft? I want to join pronto!
Yje clause that you can't join a class action lawsuit won't hold up. it's like putting a bumper sticker n your car stating that you're not responsible for aanything you hit. Won't hold up in court.
