I just got this LG VX 8100 phone and it is really starting to frustrate me because there is no reason why it should take so much effort to download Mp3 files. My computer has wma files and Ive been told time and time again that I need to convert these to mp3; but How do I do that? Even once I downloaded the converter the phone still does not read the files. I downloaded one song and it took a whole hour. Theres got to be a simpler way to download music to this phone please someone help me because I am on the verge of returning this phone. Then everytime I go in the store they act clueless. Whats the easiest way to download the songs I have on my computer into this phone.

you have to get a upgrade and if you have had your phone for under 1 year it is free

if u go to the menu screen to setting and tools then to system then device info then to SW version it will prolly say on your phone
T81VZ01

when you get the upgrade it will say
T81VZ04

now that i have the upgrade it says 4. My Mp3's

i got the adapter and all that and i downloaded some songs from my computer to the disc... i put it in and the phone keeps saying

NO SONGS FOUND ON MEMORY CARD

so how do i get my phone to notice i have songs on here??
my songs are mp3 formated

The rep is mistaken. Verizon must load the software for the mp3 player. The icon will then appear on the phone. It takes about 20-30 minutes for the software transfer. Its worth the wait.

Question here...how do you get the MP3 player for the VX8100? I can't find it anywhere going through all the menus.

If it matters, here's my software versions:
SW Version: T81VZV01
PRL Version: PRL 50430
ERI Version: ERI4

Is there an upgrade from that - thta will give me the mp3 capabilities? The sales rep at the store said "oh, you're phone is updated already..it was only a problem for when they were first released" but I suspect they just shamed me w/an excuse. I just bought my phone 5 days ago.

I am having the same problem. I have all the new settings from Verizon for the MP3 player...i have put the songs on. I put the Card in...and it says "No Songs Found On Memory Card." Is there a problem with the way I have the songs on the card?

So confused...

Make sure that you have the individual songs(not an album) in the MP3 folder on the mini SD card.....also make sure that you have the updated software in the phone....04 good luck

Help! I have this phone and have downloaded some songs to the MP3 player. However, none of the legally downloaded songs from Napster will play- they don't show up when the disc is in the phone but when the disc is in the card reader they show up. I understand that all Napster files are in the wma format and they need to be in the mp3 format, is there a way to convert the protected wma files to mp3 so I can use my music library? If I can't I might as well return everything....
