forget about all of that stuff. the length of the file name, the bitrate, whatever. here is what you need to do. i am friends with someone who works for verizon, and has the same phone. he has episodes of family guy and all types of shit on his phone.
here is what he said:
"DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE
on your phone you are going to press the middle OK key
using your number pad type in hit zero (0)
then type in six zero's(000000)
then scroll to bottom for Music Settings.then enable mp3's
DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE!
DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE"
there you have it. YOU'RE WELCOME GUYS!!!!!!
OK, I'm Mac with an iBook and I've BEEN saving mp3s to my SD card since I've had my VX8100 -suddenly it's become a "Read Only" disk! If I go to Get Info I have no option available to change that. I've reformatted the disk (which erased everything on it) and done what's suggested above, still have same problem, and now no content at all on the disk!
Any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

OK, I found the problem, in case anyone else runs across it.
There's a tiny "lock" switch, not on the mini card but on the ADAPTER that holds it. It's really loose on my card and easily moved to Lock from Unlock. In fact, it seems like the USB card holder moves it slightly back, closer to the Lock position, which may have finally triggered it to lock.
