All,
So far no luck with erasing the V3 with 8.26. I am able to send a .bin file to it, but the problem I have is erasing the flash first. You cant overwrite a flash, it has to be erased, then reprogrammed, and I cant seem to get the address right in RAMLDR to erase. I will keep at it.
From what I could get in my research, the "RDL SIG ERROR: 39: 02:" is a problem with the cable (or the port on the phone), or the modem. RDL SIG (Remote Data Loopback Signal) is somthing that all modems are capable of doing, but apparently the 8.26 BL is looking for a different voltage or signal. I am going to breadboard my cable and play around with wires. At this point, I am also going to see if I can erase the flash by shorting the phone (much like removing the battery on a computer motherboard).
Also, my V3 has started having problems with the keyboard lights just going off for no reason. Has anyone had this problem?
The good thing in all of this is, no matter what I do to the phone, it still works. We'll see if that hold true for Day2.

I believe the technical term is "he's gone stark raving mad"
His solution to a USB problem is taking the cable apart and rearranging the wires to see if it can be made to work. ><
Then again, I'll be eating something dark and feathery if he gets it right, and if I knew half as much about electronics engineering as him I'd probably be doing the same thing.
Have fun!

Thanks for the support Psycho I dont suggest this for anyone. I am an electronic engineer, so the hardware side of this is my thing.

You remind me of a guy on another type of modding site that is an EE for AMD and made some really complex and uberleet computer cases.

Good Luck Gresh3...
I have already tried shorting and twisting the USB cable about as far as it can without just shoritng the 5v to ground. I noticed that on my USB that pins 2 and 5 on the mini side were shorted (this may not be news to anyone so sorry for that one) so I started there and proceeded to mix pin 5 with everything under the sun and had no luck, also tried reversing 2 and 3 right after the initial connection (that was a mad moment thought). Had no luck with any combination but I know I left some out when it came to the return path...and there are for sure some not so normal webs that could be built with the pinout...Anyway...just thought I'd let you know and good luck. I don't think you can hammer the phone dead anymore with the 8.26 since it will not really accept anything anymore when it comes to flashing...

Thanks. I think you may be right I spent most of the day today, just taking the phone apart. I gotta say, the V3 is built well. Not designed to be taken apart easily. I did however get it apart, but havent spent any time with the schematics yet to see what needs to be shorted to reset.
I haven't broken the cable down yet (mainly because I cant find my breadboard), but tomorrow is another day. I figure by the time I get into it, my clip will have the update to crack it!!

Keep going Gresh...the crack from SmartClip is not around the corner...at least that's what the 5 day old e-mail from them says. I also tried the Russian's trick of shorting the test point on the shielded section of the RF board and no joy there either...only got ability to flash after shorting the point one time and got same RDL SIG ERROR response. Tried SmartMoto, PST, MultiFlash, even a large hammer and a floppy disk to try and shove it in...hahaha. Going to Moto to get schems to see what I can find as well. Geeze this is a real ball breaker and it is killing us all. Good luck and keep us posted on progress as will I...

I think this is a biggest mistake Motorola ever made.
Big part of reason i like and stick to this brand because it allow me to mod and have so much fun out of doing so, by taking that fun away form me all is left is a fone!!! just to make a call!!! no more fun.
They keep this up i'm start looking to Samsung or Nokia
John are you looking at this? look like it is simple enought, but you have to realy open up the fone and their will be a mistake that will kill the fone.
To the unlocking Pro out there they will charge the user an arm and a leg for unlocking it!!!! If those unlocking company like smart-clip don't come out with a easy update for this.
