If the phone was submerged in water for more than 2 sec, your warranty is probably hosed. There is a white dot located in the battery compartment. If that turned red/pink, your sol for an exchange.

Your best bet is to make sure it is completely dry before turning it on again.

Yeah, i've heard some pretty good success stories from people and wet phones. I talked to a guy who had his phone in his pocket, he forgot and jumped into the pool. He got out of the pool and hear his cell phone ringing! Normally I'd suggest completely (and carefully) dismantling the phone, completely drying it out for at least 3-5 days. You might need to try a different battery as well (they are usually the first thing to die when they get wet).

If you pay the monthly fee for equipment insurance you have nothing to worry about though, they cover water damage icon_smile.gif

i just did the same thing... kinda. i left it in my pocket and washed the pants. it was in the wash for like 5 minutes. then i took it out and pulled out the battery.then i dipped it in alcohol cause it's sposta help make sure it doesn't rot the circuit board. i shook it, to get the water out of the insides where it wouldn't dry easy. now, it's sitting out and i won't touch it for at least 24 hours. oh and i saw that button, but i think mine might be turning purple (it's spotted purple). what is it and what does it mean?

the button means the phone has been water damaged. warrenty uses this to detirmine if the phone is eligible or not, 'cause they don't cover water damage
