By the 'intensity' of all of your previous posts that i've read, Im assuming that you called up with a surplus of 'vinegar' and a very low supply of 'honey'.

Yes - there was a certain amount of vinegar in my last chat with Cingular, but I didn't start out that way. Without going into details I've been screwed by this company since I signed with them. Now I know you are going to be defensive and probably want details so let me just summarize. 1. I am a reasonable person, I always go out of my way to be friendly to anyone I talk to who's trying to help me. I REALIZE THEY ARE NOT TO BLAME FOR WHAT THE COMPANY THEY WORK FOR IS DOING AND THAT IN A LARGE COMPANY THINGS GET LOST IN THE SHUFFLE. 2. I've been with Cingular for about 6 months and paid over $3000 in Cell phone bills. That's a lot. Certainly more than I would have liked to have spent. Now wether that is because I didn't read the fine print or because Cingular is unscupulous might be a matter of opinion (I believe - again without going into details - that it is MOSTLY the latter), I think I might be justified in expecting a little bit wiggle room considering the amount of money I have given to the company. Not asking for anyone to bend over and kiss my butt, but I would at least like to think it might count for something. 3. Seriously. It takes a lot to get me angry. A LOT. I'm surprised Cingular managed it. You probably don't believe this but I very very seldom get angry at all. And right now I'm hopping mad.

1/2 of the customers who accumulate rollover minutes NEVER use them. Instead they are in a constant cycle of rollover accumulation, and rollover expiration. Why is everyone upset now? Shouldn't you all be upset that your Rollover minutes expired after a year of non-usage? It's the same thing. "I paid for these minutes and I want to keep them!"

You are generalizing and grouping me with others. You didn't read what happened to me. Let me reiterate: A CINGULAR REP SUGGESTED I CHOOSE A PLAN WITH MORE MINUTES, SPEND EXTRA MONEY, AND THAT I WOULD BE ABLE TO KEEP THE ROLLOVER MINUTES WHEN SWITCHING TO A LESSER PLAN. A CINGULAR REP. TOLD ME THIS. SUGGESTED IT TO ME. And if you would read my previous post you would see that it really shouldn't matter that YOU didn't know that the change was going to go down - WHAT MATTERS IS SOME ONE ABOVE YOU DID. They should be accountable for this decision. Who is Stan Sigman? What is his mailing address and phone number - I'll happily take it up with him.

oh and bob how is it not wrong for you and other cust to be on a plan with too many min for a few months then drop to a super cheap plan and use up the rollover, that would be attempting to cheat cingular out of money it seams like you just pissed because cingular got wise you yalls scam , if anyone is scaming its the cust who do that

You are an idiot. Did you read my post? A CINGULAR REP SUGGESTED THIS TO ME AND TOLD ME IT WAS ALL ABOVE BOARD. I didn't come up with this idea on my own. It was suggested by a Cingular rep. I would have never thought of doing this otherwise. Are you saying a Cingular rep suggested to me I scam the company? And that this was a standard policy that even managers knew about (again, read my posts)? That would be so wrong I don't even know where to begin with it.

Bob-
Stan Sigman= C.E.O. of Cingular, and I don't know how to contact him. He's playing golf, most likely gambling on holes with my 401K.

You seem to keep stating over and over that you were advised by a rep to bump up your price plan to accumulate these minutes, and I will be the 1st to admit, I did this for many months. Troll explained that this was never a company mandate, this was our way of helping our customers at the time with budgeting. I always recommended bumping up during the summer and then downgrading during the Holidays to save money for gifts, and also people have a tendancy to speak more during the Holidays. I also have people calling every day stating they saw a special on our website 2 weeks ago for a free Razr, and today it is 200.00$ and they want that price. I explain to them nothing can be done, things change every day.
What you should do, or have a rep do is simply analyze the minutes used for as long as you have been on this plan and average the daytime minutes used, and select aplan that fits you best. You will still carry over the maximum amount of rollover compared to the daytime minutes included in the new rate plan, and chances are, even if you down grade, we will still have a plan that comes with more than the average minutes you are using, which almost guarantees that: A.You will not be tapping into your rollover bucket, and B.you we still accumulate rollover minutes.
Or you can C. cancel, pay the 150.00 etf and go sign with a company that has no rollover minutes at all. icon_devil.gif

C.s. Robot - Thanks for at least trying to help. Just because it wasn't mandated doesn't mean Cingular isn't responsible for all of those reps suggesting to people that this is a potential way to manage your account. Some one obviously knew this was going on or the policy wouldn't have changed.

BigRUSS - No, if my insurance agent advised me to commit fraud I wouldn't commit fraud, but if my insurance agent told me that my policy worked a certain way and I didn't know any better I would believe them. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE EXPERTS. No one told me this was fraudulent - the implication was that this was standard policy and it is done all the time. I WAS ENCOURAGED TO DO IT.

CINGULAR REPS are supposed to be experts on the phone plans they are managing. That's implied by the job they have. If some one tells me that the plan works a certain way, and it's going to change in a few months or a few weeks, THEY SHOULD HAVE THAT INFORMATION. I don't blame the reps, but the fact that this was allowed to occur is negligent and irresponsible. And the fact that no Cingular employees are helping (or have helped) me to resolve my issue (OR EVEN ADMIT THAT SOMETHING HAS BEEN DONE WRONG) shows me that Cingular doesn't give a flying-you-know-what about it's customers.

Unfortunately nobody knows in the trenches if the Big Wigs had this idea proposed before it happened. Noone knows if the Big Wigs even KNEW we were offering this to our customers. What I can assure you is the majority of my peers disagreed and definately griped vocally about this policy. We are typically on your side as the customer, unless we detect a customer trying to take advantage of the system, or try and abuse credits given.
If you want a tip, you should call back, very calmly, and ask for a possible rollover credit. This can typically be achieved a lot easier than a monetary credit. I am not guaranteeing anything, but I can almost assure you, with the right tone and demeanor you may be able to get at least 500 of your accumulated minutes on top of what current plan you may choose added back to your rollover bucket.

Thanks Robot. That's reasonable advice. Hopefully Cingular's executives will realize what's going on and make some sort of concession to people who feel they've been screwed.

Just one more thing, and then I'll shut up.

Bob459:

You had mentioned that you had the plan for a few months before they changed that policy. I bet that corporate never even thought about changing that policy when you signed up. Like I said, things change so quickly, that whole policy change most likely wasnt even in the works until about 2-4 weeks before they actually changed it. So when you signed up and the rep told you to change plans like that, not even the higher-ups were aware that this policy was going to change.

Yep - some one had said this before, and here is the response I gave earlier - IT DOESN'T MATTER. Corporate is still responsible for following through on the promises its representatives (you) make. If you offer me a deal I expect it to be honored. Since this was a standard policy for many of you and your peers to offer this deal I don't think I'm being vastly paranoid in believing that in fact Corporate did know. They train you. They record all the conversations you make and review them. They could have dealt with this situation by telling you to stop suggesting plan hopping to people. BUT THEY DIDN'T. They dealt with it in such a way that many people will be screwed out of minutes they feel like they have paid for, BECAUSE THEY CHOSE A PLAN WITH MORE MINUTES THAN THEY NEEDED AND PAID MORE FOR IT ON YOUR RECOMMENDATION. Now, I do understand corporate hierarchy, and I realize that it could have been a gigantic snafu or bureaucratic mistake, but that doesn't mean Cingular isn't responsible. If a truck making company makes a bunch of trucks that explode they don't get to say "Whoops, our bad - guess those people are screwed!" It's on a much smaller scale but the same principle is at work here. Cingular is a gigantic company with lots of resources - I EXPECT THEM TO HONOR THEIR AGREEMENTS, EVEN IF THEY MADE A MISTAKE.

lemme see... you had a deal..... you then changed the deal (your rate plan) and in between the time you made the original deal and changing the deal there was a policy change at the company... you were informed of that policy change and now your mad?
