So I installed MPT v3.20 and the software even searched for the phone, but without success. I installed the drivers for my phone (it can charge the akku via USB-cable). But I always get the error massage: Telephony interface cannot successfully start. It appears when I launch the program, after it searched for my phone (it doesn't find it though I think I have the right drivers, as I can charge the phone via USB_Cable) and after anything I try to do with the program.
please help me

Wirelessly posted (MOT-V188/0B.D2.30R MIB/2.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0)
I saw that message too when I first hooked things up. It sounds like the windows telephony service isn't running. While logged in as an administrator right click my computer and click manage. in the left side of the windows management console click services and then find telephony in the list on the right. Right click it, select properties and set it to start automatically and click start. click ok and exit the console. this is off the top of my head but it should be right.

yeah that worked for me... but for some strange reason I can't find the v360 in the MPT device configuration wizard. If I click the "browse" Button I can only select the "detect.inf"... but that doesn't do anything. The whole thing is starting to get strange as I installed the v360 in the hardwaremanager without problems before.
thanks for your replies in advance

if you're talking about what I think you're talking about, you need to go to setup->general setup in MPT then click the 'communication' tab and hit 'change modem' and if everything's set up right with the modem drivers it should go through and give you the option of CDMA/TDMA/GSM phones and you pick the one closest to your phone (i.e. my v188 is currently being used like it's a v180).
If that's the detection part that's not working, you probably have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers. With the phone plugged in, go back to the management console and hit device manager, then find the phone under 'modems', right click, uninstall. Unplug the phone, reboot the computer, and start over from starting MPT, then plugging the phone in, finding the drivers, etc.
If that doesn't work you may need to uninstall/reinstall MPT but I doubt it.
Windows can be really funky with drivers, and XP is a lot closer to the rule (NT 4.0) than it is the eception (... there are no exceptions, what am I talking about).

I am having the same problem having installed the mobile phone tools for my motorola V3. Except when i tried to start the telephony service I get the error message "Could not start the Telephony service on local computer Error 1083: The executable program that this service is configured to run in does not implement the service"
Whats more is that any service requiring the Svchost.exe -k netsvcs cannot be started... any ideas?
