After searching through the entire forum I'm unable to find any help about my problem. So here it is:
I got a Motorola V3 unlocked but with vodafone branding.
First thing I did was to apply all the files from the V3 unbranding pack and I got rid of all those stupid vodafone live links.
I also added the Windows XP mobile custom startup and shutdown screens + sounds.... so far so good.
The problem I notice now is that when I power up the phone, right before the custom startup screen shows up I'm confronted with the horrible red vodafone welcome, bienvenu, willkommen screen... where is that file? how do I remove that? shouldnt the custstartup.gif remove the other one? Seems that the phone first loads the red welcome and then the custome windows mobile...
Any help?
Thx
Tony

What a bugger... I'll have to live with it then?
No Flex or Flash will fix that?
My friend has moto flexed phone and that thing doesn't appear. On the other hand I transfered all gifs I could find on the phone and none was that red welcome screen...

Sounds like you need to turn off the Motorola OEM Startup/Shutdown animation. go to http://www.xlr8.us/hofo/ and look under Activating Custom Startup and Shutdown Animation: if you are not familiar with seem editing READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS OR YOU COULD COOK YOUR PHONE and then you would have to start all over. Good luck

Perhaps like in the North American that has two splash screens the HelloMoto and the Purple Rose, then there might be a chance that there be another splash screen to select..
