Can the LG C2000 be connected to laptop with a USB data cable and be used as a modem? I ordered the data suite (Data Suite For LG F9100, G4015, G4050, L1150, L1200, L1400, C1500, C2000) and it says it can. But, on other sites, it says "no modem support for the LG C2000". Please help.

doesn't wap require you to use the internet on your phone, which causes additional charges?

You have to use your browser to download the tone/pic to your phone, but the charge is a penny per KB. I've made and downloaded two MP3 ringtones and a wallpaper picture and it cost me about 60 cents.

Ok,
The question still stands as far as what I have read.

Can someone please explain to me how to download ringtones and wallpapers to the C2000.

I feel like a complete idiot when it comes to all the technical vocabulary used most of the time on these threads, so if someone could explain this to someone with say a very limited knowledge, I would be forever in your debt. (basicly a how-to for dummies)

I have a data cable that I am pretty sure is for this model of phone and thats about it.

I have a nextel i860 and bought the data cabel for it. I downloaded the drivers and webjal and after about 4 hours of cursing at the computer, phone, and everything else, I finally got it to work. And that was with a How-To for dummies page I found on the web. I figured this probably wouldn't be much different.

Guess I was wrong. I just want ringtones and wallpapers.

HELP![/b]

Found this MA -8020P "data suite" at the "cell phone shop". The package came with software, but did not have the C2000 driver. There was a link on the package where I was able to download.

http://global.mobileaction.com/

You have to have their software (and I suspect their cable) for this to work. Using it I was able to download and edit my contacts with their software on my PC. I was not able to import from Outlook (although it claims to support it and appered it was importing). I haven't tried the other features yet.

This is an interesting cable as it contains active componets. You install the software, then the drivers, then plug-in the cable and XP sees it (new device installed) *before* you plug in the phone.

I have purchased from the from this company several times and been happy, although the stuff usually ships from Hong Kong.

Hello, Interesting Topic... Glad I found This Forum and Website..

Ok, I Just spent $32 Bucks on The Software and Cable Mentioned from The cell phone shop and they sends it through http://global.mobileaction.com/ ....

I was SO UPSET to find that this Cable and Software only allows you to sync Messages and Contacts via your PC!! What A Rip-Off! as if I only wanted to sync lousy Contacts and Messages... I got it for Ringtone and Pic Syncronizing... And this is what The Cell Shop States you will be able to do with this Cable and Software... NOT TRUE.

The Up Side, if there is One, is that you can get the most out of this cable and software with other Models Such as, LG G4015, G4050, L1200,L1400, and L1150.. But this doesn't help for the C2000 Model..

So if anyone finds out more helpful info for syncing Ringtones, Pics, etc. with the C2000, Please Post It.. I think They are ripping People on This Model... Later
