Why are there interstate highways in Hawaii?
Why are there flotation devices under plane seats instead of parachutes?
If 7-11 is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, why are there locks on the doors?
Why do they put Braille dots on the keypad of the drive-up ATM?

I've got a strange one for you. How do we know that any word we say is actually what it means? for example when some says hello, bonjour, aloha, dog, tree, paper, or any other word, how do we actually know if those "sounds" so to speak actually mean that? maybe dog isn't the correct term for "dog". I understand some terms/words are derived from latin and other languages but where did they come up with their "sounds"? I dunno it's kinda weird. Think about it.
