I don't think that is what dedbol means. You are talking about CD > mp3 conversion, dedbol wants to minimize MP3 files as much as possible.

You can't minimize a MP3 much further than it already is compressed. I think. You have one option to get small mp3 files and that's to set a lower quality when converting CD->mp3. For example.

128kbps is standard MP3 compression rate, this should be cdquality. However I prefer the 192kbps or higher for my mp3's. However, the higher your compression rate 128kbps, 160, 192, 320,.... the bigger your file gets but the better your music sounds. But you will need very good speakers and very good hearing to notice differences between 160 & 192 or 192 & 320.

Now to get your mp3's on your 3650 and get as many on it as possible you will have to lower your compression rate. If I was u I would try to go for 112kbps and listen how it sounds and maybe you can even try to go for 64kbps...but I doubt it that that will sound good. However the filesize will be noticeably smaller = more mp3's on your 128 megs card. You can also go for mono converting since stereo listening isn't possible on the 3650 (that's what I've read here).

Compressing an MP3 file is not the right thing to do I think because and MP3 file already is a compressed file...so compressing a compressed file will lead to severe quality loss I think.

I hope this helps you out a bit. icon_smile.gif

Not really... becaus you get only a clear bass with 256kbps... so 192 to 320 is a big difference, which you can clearly hear...

I'd prefer .ogg format (if player supports)
when mp3 sounds flat, ogg is more lively
160k can make very good quality (like 192k mp3)

cdex and musicmatch jukebox can change mp3 bitrate
just remember, once change to fewer bitrate, it's unable to revert it back
