I have a L1400 which was cingular but it was prepaid so I don't think it was locked. However, everytime I try to make a call it says "Emergency Only". Can someone please tell me what that means. I would be much appreciated.

Ok i am a little confused. I know with the prepaid phones there are 2 things you will need to do. Yes you will need to get the phone unlocked for the sim provider. Also you will need to go to a cingular store and have them convert it to a post pay phone. say that you are already a customer, and bought the phone on ebay or something. There is a part that needs to be removed inorder for the phone to work on a contract.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear enough. I need it to remain unlocked. I just moved to Pakistan and I want to use a pre-paid sim here. When I put in the sim, it finds the signal but the phone just says "emergency only" when I try to make a call. I was able to just flash/flex my Motorola raZr and now it works here but I can't fing anything of the sort for the LG.

I don't think it does for lg phones honestly. You would need the program and an unlocker cable for LG phones to do it, but i know there aren't any flexes/flashes for LG
