Samsung PC Studio II Vesion 1.0 for SGH-X486

Hi, on Samsungs webside they offer for my SGH-X486 only Samsung PC Studio II Version 1.0. And I undestand thet there is version 2 and already 3 going aroud. So I would be using a very old soft. And it realy is!

I am using a USB cable with a USB-Serial driver.

And I can't back-up my adress book with that old software. I do see it on the PC but can't back-up it.

May I use a newer version? Why do they ask at Samsung to use such and old soft?

As far as I know, version 2 or 3 are for other models and they probably won't work for your phone. As for address book (or phonebook) backup, I think you can copy them to Computer as a backup. Under PIMS Phonebook, there are three different locations namely Computer, Phone SIM and Phone MS. Click F1 within PIMS to open the Help window, look at Phonebook management and it will tells you how to select all the contact and how to copy them to another location. To backup, copy them to Phonebook for Computer.

Finaly it wors with your help!

I can now copy from my SIM to the Computer and than back to phones memory, not to the SIM. But in the event that I loose the SIMS memory, I'll find a way to copy from phones memory to phones SIM.

Hi sorry

this will have nothing to do with your query but one I have. Bought usb cable from net. Received disk and cable. Connect cable to phone and computer. Put disk in and installed all sofware easystudio 2. But I can not do anything else. I don't know wat to do. When I try to go on easystudio internet it will say can not open port. Wat does that mean? Can u help me I am not brill with computers but with easy instructions I will try anything. Please can u help me?

I'll try to help. Besides EasyStudio 2, did you also install the USB driver if there is one in the disk? After you installed the USB driver, you have to go to Device Manager to check which COM port is assigned to the USB cable. Then you have to go to EasyStudio and click File - Setup and change Ports to the same COM port that you found from Device Manager. If you find the above instructions are too complicated, you should ask your friend who knows computer to help you out.

I understand that much. I didn't have software for usb driver so I download one from I can't remember.

I am showing off line on pimms ... and on the internet access it says cannot open port. What's that all about.

All I wanted to do was to add some tracks on phone from net

Go to Device Manager and see if you can find the line for the driver. If you see line with ! or ?, that means the driver is not installed properly.

I am not sure this is the right topic but I hope someone can help me.
I am trying to download the pictures from my sgh-e600. I bought the cable and downloaded the programs from samsung website. I was told to download pc studio II 1.0, pc studio PIMS and pc studio sample. All I can do is copying the phone numbers from the phone to the pc.
I don't know what to do, if I need to activate some option on the cell phone or do something different on the computer. Someone knows how to do?

I have a Samsung E330N and wondering if I can upload from PC Studio.

You should be able to upload ringtone and pictures from PC to phone and download pictures from phone to PC by using PC Studio PIMS.
