Hi,
I just wonder if i have a pre-paid cell with a working sim card, will the sim card will be expired and deactivated after an unused period and there is no money left in the account (like after 3 months). The case is that i have no money left in my prepaid account now; and i am going to overseas for 3 months, what will happen after i come back, do i need to activate the sim (meaning pay for the activation fee again) or just buy a re-filled card and start to make calls. Thanks

Hi Thank,
I called Cingular but the prep could not give me a right answer, is there anyone here know the issue: how long the sim card remains unused to will be expired (meaning i can not use my cell number any longer)? Thanks

Yes it will expire 90 days after the account balance has been used i sugest you go buy a $15 card witch will take 30 days to expire then you have another 90 days after that before your account becomes compleatly inactive, If your account becomes inactive you will have to pay $25 to gat it reactivated and you won't be able to get you same number back.

this is the quote from the terms and conditions at the website
Additional Terms for Prepaid Customers. You are responsible for prepaying all charges for using the Service. The airtime balance in your prepaid account is reduced by the charges attributable to your use of the Service. Service lasts as long as the earlier of a) the time period on a prepaid card or coupon or b) when the airtime balance goes to zero, then Service will be interrupted. You may continue to use Service by purchasing additional prepaid Service. If your account expires, you may lose your Number. You will not receive a monthly bill or activity record. Prepaid Service is non-refundable (even if returned during the return period), and no refunds or other compensation will be given for unused airtime balances, lost or stolen prepaid cards or coupons. Applicable Taxes & Fees will be included in your prepaid charges.
no time period is denoted...I would venture a guess that the normal 60 days from expiry (30 days after last pmt) rule of thumb would apply
