Well my DSL is only 1.5 MBPS so I might fry my brain if I think about 1 GBPS on a phone. But downloading a video to my phone it 30 seconds sounds good.

up here in canada, 5mbps or 10mbps and standard for home internet connections. working with people from the states, it seems like most are on the 1.5 dsl or so. is this normal? usually the states are quicker on tech than us, but lately we've been getting awesome phones sooner and our internet connections seem to be much faster.

The US has been slow to adapt to higher speed services. I didn't get out of dial up here in Florida until about a year ago. I think it is because of its vast rural areas.
