My family is currently on the $59.99 family shareplan and we want to add another line. It says that it costs $9.99 to add a line if you are on the $69.99 plan. Does this mean that in order to add a line we would have to bump up the the $69.99 plan and then pay another $9.99 a month?

Also, most of the phones have huge rebates if you buy it with a new plan. Does adding a line count as a new plan or will I have to pay the rediculous costs of buying a phone without a plan?

Thanks

I think you could stay on your $59.99 plan, but chances are with another line, you will need the extra minutes on the $69.99 plan.
I think if you renew/extend your contract for 2 more years you can get the rebates. It's usually best to visit the store for all the details.

You have to change the plan to a $69.99 shared plan or higher. It is a must!

Iv'e done this myself and verizon actually worked with me to do so. I also was on a 59.99 family share plan. I went to verizon and said we wanted to take advantage of the 9.99 to add a line deal. They said it would be cheaper to change my plan to get the extra minutes to 69.99 and then add the line. Then, and for all plans, when a plan is updated or changed for an extension of another 1 or 2 years, everyone on the plan is eligible for a new phone with the 1 or 2 year prices. This is one of verizon's plus's. Everyone in my family was able to get a new camera phone. 3 V265's for only 90.00 after rebates. (Deal in Febuary) I then have updated my plan thus getting my VX7000.

You can keep that same 59.99 plan and still add a line for 9.99.
However it becomes a better minute for dollar deal if you do take a newer plan.
And because you will be signing a 2yr contract on your new line you will be elligible for all the rebates just as a new customer would be.
