yeah i figured. oh well. back to my main point:
do any of you think i'm having a charging problem because the charger is not a U.S. type? it's a singapore type i believe, so the prongs fit into an adaptor. sometimes when i wiggle it this way and that, *rarely*, even after repeating the same wiggle, sometimes I'll get a "charging" beep and immediately another beep letting me know it STOPPED charging.
is this because it's non-U.S. or is it probably just a defect in the actual charger/adaptor itself? i'm sure it has nothing to do with the phone, because
the phone charges fine when hooked up via USB.

It sounds like you have an adaptor problem. I suggest just getting another charger or you can use your USB cable on your computer to charge. The trouble of troubleshooting isnt worth the 20 bucks you'll spend for a new charger (or atleast not to me).

Well I bought this phone from cellularconcepts.com so I just called them ,and they said in the interest of speed and shipping costs, to go to Radioshack and buy a new adaptor for $5 and then I sent them the receipt via email and they're crediting my card for the exact amount I paid. Talk about instant gratification!
It charges perfectly now, problem solved. It definitely was the cheap off-brand adapter that Motorola sends all its foreign phones that wasn't working. The charger works fine. Thanks for all your help !

When I use my V3i it always shows full battery. When I plug it into my charger while it's still on, it shows 2 bars. If I turn it off and plug it in it shows 1 bar! Is this the phone not reading the battery right or does something happen with the charger?
