Hi,
I just bought a brand new Motorola V276, and alas, I've already scratched it up a bit. (That's what I get for keeping it in my pocket with my keys.)
Does anyone know where I can buy paint that matches the color of the silver plastic on the left and right sides? I'd love to touch up the tiny nicks that expose the black underneath. I've looked on eBay and Googled a bit but found nothing.
Thanks in advance,
Tara

I can sympathize with you, Tara. I just tonight dropped my beautiful, all-too-slippery E815 on the street while struggling to get it out of my pocket to take a call. Thankfully, I seem to have not damaged the screen, but the bottom right corner of the handset got scratched. I now realize I should have paid for an overpriced case from Verizon rather than take my chances, as unlucky as I am. I too am looking for silver touch-up paint; otherwise the incident will continue to haunt me. (Could I possibly replace the whole front key pad plate?) I also found little help from googling - one of the most promising links I came across was to your thread. So, if it makes you feel any better, you're not the only one in this predicament.

FYI, I never did receive any leads about touch-up paint from posts to this and other message boards, but I thought I'd let you know about one possible, if imperfect, solution. I bought a metallic silver permanent marker and was able to cover the black scratched-away area on my phone with silver that more or less matches the original case color. Unfortunately, my Sharpie pen's silver coloring seems to wear off, but you might have better luck with other brands of metallic silver pens.
You might be able to find something useful here, too:

Unfortunately, this site doesn't (yet?) carry V276 supplies.
Good luck!

You're totally terrific, Tara. Your reply has been much more helpful than most everything else I have come across online and off. You've done a lot to help me; I'll be sure to post here if I come across your phone's parts or anything else that could be helpful to you.

wow thats one handy link... thanks! btw... the silver sharpie's aren't exactly that permanent if you rub on them... so paint would still be the better solution.

You know, I think I see a vacant product market here. As for myself, I ordered a replacement key pad frame from the store. The only thing is I am concerned about how the plate is affixed to the phone and whether or not replacement could be successful. I called a number of small local phone providers, but only one of them seemed to know precisely what I was referring to and told me if I had the replacement part he could install it. I guess I'll have to wait and see how things go.
