My Motorola v551 froze right as I was getting a txt message from someone. The phone just turned itself off but the outside screen is still on and frozen. I need help - I think I might've caught a virus a few weeks before from an advert maybe and I have no idea what to do now. I've had the phone on for a few days latly... battery is still strong though and I had 5 bars

Well I doubt a virus thats just unprobable and hard to come by. Try pulling the battery for like five minutes then reinsert and just take it easy on the phone for a little while, after its been on for about an hour most likely less but just for running room I say an hour, after that then you should be able to play around without it crashing. Simple text messaging and like browsing the phonebook don't take up much but games and stuff take up most the phones virtual memory, possibly making it freeze. So unless the phones been runing for awhile I don't recommend games while texting etc..

Battery is in the back, there is a tab on the back at the bottom, press it in and the backdoor slides down and off the phone, pull the battery out from the bottom first.

What he said, and after removing the battery door to pull out the battery on the bottom of the battery theres 2 little wings one on each side, grab with your fingernail and pull outward the battery will swing out then down.
