I've really been wanting to get this phone for a while now. The review on this site suggest a Q4 2005 release while other sites suggest a Q3 release. I have heard rumors from different people that it will be sometime this month, or just in time for Christmas, however, I really want to know the truth. Does anyone know exactly around when? I need to trade my phone for it within the next 15 days because I just signed up for T-Mobile. Thanks in advance.

Well then average it out a bit. If 2 times are given, Q3 and Q4 assume it will be say ending of Q3 or beginning of Q4, I don't know if it will be out in 15 days though.

yes, but then most of the sites say Q4 and only a few (the ones probably outdated) say Q3. I contacted Motorola, and they said that they have no way of finding out exactly when it will be released because they don't know when their service providers will carry it. Right now all the sites say that Cingular will carry it, but I don't see T-Mobile anywhere, which really sucks. Do you think it will be available for T-Mobile as well? The RAZR V3 is available for both networks, however, the Black RAZR is only available for Cingular.

because cingular has the largest customer base, they can make deals with companies (such as moto) to be exclusive providers of phones, like the razr and the rokr, long before other providers have access. you should switch to cingular.
that phone is cool, but it doesn't access anything greater than GPRS, and with cingular rolling out HSDPA, that might suck, if you care about that kinda thing.

Or you can let the release hit, then wait like 2 or 3 months for the smart clip unlockers to catch up then just unlock it to T-Mo. Theres a lot of methods to getting it onto T-Mo just which you choose is up to you, the post just above me is also a suggestion, but one that comes with a rather large termination fee, depending on where you stand with your contract at the moment.

Unlocking is when you enable the phone to fully function on another companies service, say you have a phone bought from Cingular. That phone will only accept Cingular SIM chips. If you unlock it you can put a ATT or T-Mo SIM in it and use it.
